In the Company of Plants and Rocks: Winter Tree Following: cottonwood, juniper, willow
http://plantsandrocks.blogspot.com/2015/03/winter-tree-following-cottonwood.html
In the Company of Plants and Rocks. Saturday, March 7, 2015. Winter Tree Following: cottonwood, juniper, willow. Cottonwood twigs collected in January are leafing out – indoors. In the wild, leaves won't appear until late May. It’s time to part with my cottonwood. I was searching for a suitable juniper in the foothills just east of town. They’re common, especially on rockier slopes and in draws. We walked up a small dry draw with a box canyon at the head. Rocky Mountain juniper, Juniperus scopulorum.

Not a Carrot – Off The Edge Gardening
https://offtheedgegardening.wordpress.com/2015/08/08/not-a-carrot
Off The Edge Gardening. August 8, 2015. First pick a load of rosemary. Beat it into submission with a rolling pin and stuff it into a container of your choice. I use a spaghetti jar, quite why there is one of these in our house I have no idea, but at least this makes good use of it. Push similarly whacked cloves of garlic and a couple of chillies (yes I know it looks like a carrot) into the jar. Stand back and admire your handiwork. Strain off the gunky stuff and bottle up.
