Bursledon Blog: Early Start
http://bursledonblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/early-start.html
Friday, 15 May 2015. I had some early morning conference calls, so set the alarm but it was one of those nights when you are so concious of getting up early you can't sleep. So I took the opportunity to sneak in an early run just as it was getting light. And what a morning it was, not a breath of wind on the water, colours so rich it was like looking at a Canaletto painting. Sadly the quality of the camera on my phone doesn't due justice. 16 May 2015 at 22:43. Max: you are a wise man. My Photos on Flickr.

The Jack Whistle: And I *Still* Can't Complain ....

Saturday, July 9, 2016. And I *Still* Can't Complain . Hitch number two is in the books and the boss tells me we'll be a 24-hour boat when I come back to work. Getting signed-off on the class of boats I'm now working on will be a matter of months, not weeks, but apparently the master feels comfortable enough with me on the wheel to stay in his stateroom for all but the really unusual jobs. All that before the stars aligned and a port captain was available to "bless" my TOAR. I was a little, uh, nervous.

Recollections of a Vagabonde. My Reminiscences of events, old and new, and travels, far and near. Sunday, May 17, 2015. Spring in the Deep South - Madison, part 2. It took us about 30 minutes to drive to Madison. I avoided the highway and took a small rural road where there was no traffic. I took a picture through my windshield - there is a glass reflection though. You can see my reflection, taking the photo, in the mirror on the right.). The bedroom with the pink sofa and red carpet was redecorated for ...

Recollections of a Vagabonde. My Reminiscences of events, old and new, and travels, far and near. Thursday, January 30, 2014. Staying close to home in January. At the beginning of the month we drove to Johns Creek, GA, to a French bakery I had noticed on the Internet. It is called "Sweet Tentations." (Click on collage twice to enlarge.). We had lunch there. I selected the classic "Bouchee a la Reine" and salad, and my husband the stuffed avocado and salad. Cranberries were still at the supermarket so I m...

Voyages of the schooner Issuma. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. January 7, 2013. Haro Strait on a beautiful September day. I’ve been working in Vancouver for the last several weeks. After several years off sailing, I’m enjoying working (in computers) again. I plan to move her closer to Vancouver later this month. Locat...
