Foam insulation – brackencreek

https://brackencreek.wordpress.com/2016/10/24/foam-insulation

October 24, 2016. December 16, 2016. NB: if you want to read the installments in order, skip ahead to “Installing Battens”. I wrote it first and forgot to post it. It’s finally time for the foam insulation – almost. First we need to prepare the space. All the electrical boxes needed tape round their edges and over the front. We put up plastic on all the windows. All that is left is a box that we used as a table, a kneeling pad (an ever-present assistant these days for most projects), and a short ladder.

December 13, 2016. December 16, 2016. NB: This installment was posted out of order: it should have been before “foam insulation”. I wrote it, thought I had posted it, and discovered it later in the drafts folder. The supports are called battens, though I suppose I could also call them studs, since they are taking the place of studs. October 16, 2016. I knew that I wanted a light or lights at the door of the new shop, but I didn’t have a particular design in mind when I first drew the plans. The theme of the design was “what if Bilbo Baggins had an electronics shop? 8221; Yes, I’m one of those nerds. That’s where this all started. I actually took this picture with the intent of coming back in a month to get the lights, with the photo for reference, and then I remembered how many times I’ve gone back for something only...Stability was...

July 18, 2016. When our friend Joe heard that we were doing this project, he called me the next day to say “Hey, I found a nice metal door, twenty-five bucks, no frame.” I was not looking forward to the hassle of creating a frame, so I said no thanks, I was looking for a prehung door. Kitsap… Continue reading The door frame. Choosing and cutting in the windows. July 17, 2016. July 17, 2016. July 15, 2016. July 16, 2016. July 14, 2016.
