Through the Right Lens. Juxtaposing differing views on faith, school, and everything in between. July 18, 2008. Interesting feeling as of late. I’m getting this notion where either I love or hate everyone that I encounter. There is no in between. I either embrace everyone at work as souls that need grace, or I burn with exasperating anger. Something seems to me that this is what should be happening. I like this feeling…a lot. More to come later,. David Ghitis…the ghitimonster. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Tracking the Development of Humanity’s Most Cherished Beliefs. Archive for December, 2006. The Greeks and the Enlightenment. December 3, 2006 in Metaphysical Frameworks. I have finally began my exploration into Greek Philosophy, which is considered the birth of all subsequent western philosophical reflection. I have discovered so many interesting things so far, and have much more to do. Gives an apt illustration by saying that with the rise of astronomy and mathematics, “men began to learn that the...

Tracking the Development of Humanity’s Most Cherished Beliefs. Archive for October, 2006. October 20, 2006 in Metaphysical Frameworks. Here are my thoughts for this project. It will look seomthing like this:. 1 Divide Philosophy into eras: Greek Philosophy, Early Christianity and philosophy, Medivieval philosophy, Modern philosophy, contemporary philosophy. (Hat tip to Julian Marias’ History of Philosophy for this outline). 2 Survey of general historical context of each era. 1) Dividing Christianity into...

Descartes & Postmodernism | Metaphysical Frameworks
https://allamariskan.wordpress.com/2007/01/30/descartes-postmodernism
Tracking the Development of Humanity’s Most Cherished Beliefs. January 30, 2007 in Current Trends. In class tonight my professor made an interesting observation regarding the “postmodern movement.”. His point was that postmodernism isn’t necessarily a “shift” but rather a strain, albeit a radical one, within modernity. To illustrate this point he pointed us to one of Johnny-Dee’s favorite philosophers. I’m sure many will disagree with my professor’s assessment. This was only a comment he ...I think the r...

Through the Right Lens. Juxtaposing differing views on faith, school, and everything in between. June 20, 2008. 8220;The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’. Today, a couple of Jr. High groups from my youth group went to visit a disabled veteran’s hospital. As an adult leader, I went along. We dealt out all the cards just like he said, trying to understand him. Now put four in the middle. We did so. He tried...Open the ...

Through the Right Lens. Juxtaposing differing views on faith, school, and everything in between. September 12, 2008. Sorry for not updating in….how long? School has taken the priority in my life lately. I’m taking Spiritual Formation for Christian Ministry, Christian Doctrine, American Government, and Statistics for Social Sciences. I enjoy exaclty 3/4’s of my teachers; however, I enjoy all my classes. God is not your enemy, he’s your advocate. I Love you all, and stay in His word.

Through the Right Lens. Juxtaposing differing views on faith, school, and everything in between. October 8, 2008. Ben Harper is my favorite artist today. His musicianship is outstanding, his voice pierces through your heart, and his lyrics relate to everyone on Earth in at least one way. Here is an example of one of his great songs…. Amen Omen by Ben Harper. What started as a whisper. Slowly turned into a scream. Searching for an answer. Where the question is unseen. I dont know where you came from.

Through the Right Lens. Juxtaposing differing views on faith, school, and everything in between. August 3, 2008. Don’t know how we’ve lasted here so long. There must be more good than bad or we’d already be gone. And if you get up to Heaven before I do, I’m gonna tell ya,. It’s gonna be cruel there too. 8211;Welcome to the Cruel World, Ben Harper. Could heaven quite possibly be cruel? And, is having our straw, wood, and hay being burned really suffering loss? Anyone who breaks one of the least. Perhaps k...

Through the Right Lens. Juxtaposing differing views on faith, school, and everything in between. Soverignity: A New Prospective? July 25, 2008. While reading the Bible, admittedly to find comfort after such a loss of will, I stumbled upon a verse in Psalm:. The LORD does whatever pleases him,. In the heavens and on the earth,. In the seas and all their depths. Could it be that me not passing my CLEP was pleasing to God so that His greater will for me would be accomplished? I believe so. Now trust me,...
