Monday, April 19, 2010. Normally a site for debate and commentary on issues, I wanted to dedicate this one post to planning a backpacking trip. Where and when are we going to go backpacking this year? Honestly I don't care a whole lot where, but I have an irresistible itch to starve off dried food, wind up grueling switchbacks, and get eaten by misquotes for about a week or so. Great Basin, Nevada: Caves, desert and mountains. Lower Escalante River, Utah: best extended backpacking trip in canyon country.

Monday, June 7, 2010. June 8th 2010 Primary elections - THAT'S TOMMOROW! Well, I don't know about everyone else, but the primaries this year kind of snuck up on me. I usually like to get this dialogue happening sooner, but better late than never I guess. As we have done for the past couple elections, I like to get people's input. We will soon get back his one year portraits, so for now I will have to post some of the little pictures I have taken. Here is a little update on this handsome little guy: He pulls up on everything. Thursday, November 12, 2009. I recently watched this 60 min video about Medicare fraud which was an excellent reminder of how when a government program starts with the best of intentions to fix a problem there isn't a real motivation to keep it competitive, so eventually it becomes fraught with waste and in this case fraud. After watching this video ask yourself two questions:. 1 Is the government really capable of handling a bigger public program, like the one that just passed the Senate?
