VW 56 Update

In front of the garage. After years of trying to convince a old man to sell one of his VW cabriolets. My work was rewarded, And i could bring home this treasure. The plan is to put it on hold for a while. I need to fix my other projects first). Then i will try to an original restoration, lets see if i can keep from adding more HP,better gearbox, disc brakes. But I'm 100% sure that i will lower it all cars needs lowering :-). The top wasn't perfect to start with, and it has not become better in the outside.

Long time no update, sorry about that but I've got a NEW PROJECT! First some background information. I sold my V12 racer, yes i had a grown up moment. The new owner takes it for a test drive before he buy's the car. You should always do that so you know what you are getting into. Test drive went OK so he gave me some money and loaded up the V12 in the back of a truck. Then they headed for home 700km north of where i live. Rover Meteor V12 Race car! For some odd reason i have always been interested in big engines. And after hearing an 27 litre Rolls Royce. V12 running i n 1999,I finally decided to get one. But they are not so easy to find. So when I saw an ad in late 2000 I called directly. There was one complete engine and one to spare, I arranged. Time for a short upgrade on my VW Cabrio Project, actually i made most of the work. Around christmas. Ive only been slow with the typing/publishing on the webb. I will keep. Project this on the backburner for the summer.But then you can expect more pic's. Here is some of the pieces i cut off the 58 Sedan. As you see the sandblasting really showed how much rust there was on the 56.After spending 30 year outside. I started to rebuild the floorpan. After removing the front lower crossmeber i found more rust.
