Archive for November, 2008. Now that it is a few days later and I have had time to relax and do a whole lot of nothing, it is time to wrap up Thanksgiving. Everything went well, although my lofty goal of maintaining my live updates during the actual day just didn’t work out. There was just no need to smear raw turkey juices or sticky cranberry sauces across my keyboard. November 30, 2008 at 7:50 pm. Jennifer A (Bread and Putter). Jennifer does some Twittering as she prepares for dinner for 18. November 1...

February 22, 2009 at 7:37 pm. Jennifer A (Bread and Putter). After a long and fairly crappy week, I was in the mood for some comfort food. A friend of mine had been telling me about some gluten free products she had been trying, including some made with tapioca. So, when I wandered into Ocean State Job Lot on Friday and saw that all of the Bob’s Red Mill products were 20% off, I just had to buy some tapioca pearls. And waited to find out if I still liked it. February 15, 2009 at 8:44 pm. Jennifer A (Bread and Putter). It all started with the pretty Christmas cookies with the holly painted on the icing. Then they morphed into Valentine cookies, with pretty jam cut-outs, personalized birthday cookies and anniversary cookies. One Valentine’s Day, I made them into conversation hearts. This Valentine’s Day, it was a little different. Would you believe I am not the only one with such a sick mind? Or they have too much time and food color on their hands. You are co...

I based it on a recipe by Gale Gand I found on the Food Network website. There were definitely a lot of steps for making this cake and it may look daunting, but I had a lot of fun with it. The hardest part for me is decorating – something for which I have neither the proper tools nor any training whatsoever. Entry filed under: Uncategorized. 2 Comments Add your own.

Spaghetti All’Amatriciana with Spicy Smoked Mozzarella Meatballs. March 2, 2009 at 8:18 pm. Jennifer A (Bread and Putter). I saw Giada De Laurentiis make this recipe. On her new show Giada at Home recently and the meatballs looked so good, I knew I had to make them this weekend. I mean, what a brilliant yet simple concept – stuffing meatballs with a little cube of cheese! I wish I thought of that. And the sauce sounded intriguing too. I had never cooked with pancetta before and how could that be? After a...

Chicken & Waffles: The First of the Milestones
http://time-for-chicken-n-waffles.blogspot.com/2012/02/first-of-milestones.html
Thursday, February 23, 2012. The First of the Milestones. Today he would have turned 50. If he were living, I could have gotten loads of grief mileage out of the AARP applications arriving in the mail commemorating this milestone birthday. Instead, I am calling relatives and sharing memories of him, drinking a few glasses of wine and enjoying a series of outright crying jags. I'm just very sad tonight. He hated people fussing in any regard. But he'd like knowing how much he was and is loved.
