charlie's travels: October 2006
http://charliespratt.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Travelling to broaden the mind and the waistline. Monday, October 30, 2006. Cambodia was a revelation. Poor, blighted by corruption, landmines and sad history, it nevertheless had the friendliest people and a welcoming manner. For the record, Cambodian men are much better looking than Thai boys. Tuk tuk drivers had a sense of humour, boys at reception would talk for hours just for the pleasure of it, people waved at buses and boats. After a while I went to settle down infront of School of Rock on TV and ...

Travelling to broaden the mind and the waistline. Wednesday, November 22, 2006. Day 21 in the big brother house. Just a quick post (hopefully). I just had to let you know of the comedy that has become Manly Backpackers. This 'home from home' has turned into the Big Brother house. I love it but it is dirty and smelly. There are parties every night - not just until 1 or 2am but last night's was going on a few rooms away until around 7am. Fun if you want to party - not if you have work in the morning. Certa...

Travelling to broaden the mind and the waistline. Friday, June 30, 2006. Well folks i made it here ok. so far so good! Flights were fine - bit of a delay on the second from Dubai to Bangkok and it was hellish getting off plane in Dubai - a) because it was like an oven even at 7am and b) because it was about 4am in England and i'd had 2 hrs sleep! I was the only one on the minibus - a crazy ride through nighttime bangkok seeing the good, the bad and the ugly. And then by boat. Now near Khao San Road to ch...

charlie's travels: January 2007
http://charliespratt.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Travelling to broaden the mind and the waistline. Monday, January 29, 2007. Australia Day cocktails with Dani. Well another week has flown by in a haze of work, drinks, dancing, dvds and sunshine. To be honest the days are rolling into one another right now. I'm enjoying being in a work routine but it is tiring. But who can complain when they catch a ferry to and from work in the sunshine everyday? We woke up and bought fresh croissants and french bread from the bakery and ate them with cream cheese and ...

charlie's travels: July 2006
http://charliespratt.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Travelling to broaden the mind and the waistline. Monday, July 31, 2006. This place is beginning to feel like home. I wish I could speak more of the language and I am constantly frustrated by not being able to read signs, bus timetables or have the most basic conversation. But I love the people and the scenery, the food and the bizarre mix of oriental and occidental. To hear the cry of falang, falang! Can be tiresome. I don't want attention drawn to me every two seconds, but mostly it is well meant&#...
