Malc's Astro Page: A trio in Leo.
http://malcsastro.blogspot.com/2015/02/a-trio-in-leo.html
Astrophotography by Malcolm Dent. Wednesday, 25 February 2015. A trio in Leo. The fainter galaxies were somewhat more of a challenge. The image has been plate solved and I needed this to locate and verify the position of the objects that were barely visible even at 400 x zoom in Photoshop. But I did find that an inverse of the frame gives greater contrast as some of the faintest smudges are just a couple of shades brighter than the background. Sky at Night TV Programme. FAR AWAY THINGS...: Jupiter's triple transit
http://farawaythings.blogspot.com/2015/01/jupiters-triple-transit.html
Photography of "far away things" - space, but I may also want to include anything in our atmosphere or just nice landscape shots. Monday, 26 January 2015. The image above is Jupiter on the 20-inch for comparison, the following Tuesday night. There is a slight aberration in the optical system, but the moons Europa (and its shadow) and Io are very clearly shown. Posted by Dr Dan. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). FAR AWAY THINGS...: Fleeting Mercury
http://farawaythings.blogspot.com/2015/05/fleeting-mercury.html
Photography of "far away things" - space, but I may also want to include anything in our atmosphere or just nice landscape shots. Wednesday, 27 May 2015. Mercury above the rooftops at 21:56 BST 13th May. Snapped by poking my telephoto lens out of my bathroom window. ISO1600 f/5 1/15". It's always very low in the twilight, following the sun down, and it's only visible for brief windows of time, if it's clear. An elusive, vespertine planet! Posted by Dr Dan. Keith's Astro Page: September 2012
http://keithsastropage.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Friday, 14 September 2012. First guiding attempt with PHD. Here is my first attempt at guiding with a QHY5 camera and PHD. Taken 13 September 2012 this is a SINGLE, 20 minutes exposure of the Crescent Nebula (NGC 6888), taken with the QHY8L ccd with my William Optics Megrez 102 on a NEQ6 mount. Perfectly round stars right into the corners. Some people have reported that they were having problems with PHD, I don't know why, it is a really simple to use program and very effective. Keith's Astro Page: June 2014
http://keithsastropage.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, 15 June 2014. Well here we go second go with the new camera and much improvement. This one shot at 30fps and a stack of 700 from 1400 frames. This one has come out very nice indeed, well happy with it! Keith morris member of the Breckland Astronomical Society. Well got myself an 8" SCT (Meade) and a ZWO ASI 120 colour planetary camera. This was my very first go and while it does leave a lot to be desired I am still happy with it considering it was my very first go with this new camera.
