Funky Cold Medinas: November 2011
http://funkycoldmedinas.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 17, 2011. Sometimes emotion hits unexpectedly, welling up inside, becoming a big tight ball of tension behind the eyes and throat. And then, the pressure becomes too great, and the dam bursts, no longer able to hold back the torrent of pain and heartache flooding forth in constricted and unwilling tears. I felt the poignant ache of loss and love and hope and loss. This was the first time I’d ever let that thought become more than a flitting wisp; I genuinely wanted to be out of t...

Funky Cold Medinas: August 2014
http://funkycoldmedinas.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 18, 2014. Typically, I am not a quitter. I force myself to see things through to a natural conclusion, no matter how painful or how hard. That fatalistic determination has changed somewhat since losing my intestine. Some things just aren’t worth it and I have had to realize I just cannot do everything I think I can; that’s why I am so very careful and particular about what I commit myself to. There’s no way. I’ve set myself up for complete failure. A person’s spiritual life cannot be...

The Corbin Crew: November 2008
http://corbincrew.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 25, 2008. I had to post this hilarious conversation Rylie and Madison had in the car yesterday! Here is how it went:. Madison: "Mommy my head hurts.". Rylie: "That means you have a headache.". Madison: "No it doesn't! I don't have a headache. My head just hurts.". Mommy then explains that that is what a headache means. That if something "aches" it means it hurts. Rylie: "Yeah, like a headache or a tummy ache or a back ache.". Madison: "Or a hiney ache! I laughed so hard! Madison providi...

Funky Cold Medinas: July 2012
http://funkycoldmedinas.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Baby Medina grave, 7/24/12. I Will Come to You. Tonight I finally braved my broken heart. And gathered up my nerve. I went to see you, keeping my mind impassive and my emotions carefully filed away. Stoically, I marched across the newly plowed passage. Leading straight from the gate to your shady spot of rest. Your brother and sisters scampered across the field,. Dodging scattered donkey pies as if we were out for an evening adventure walk. I wanted them to meet you,. 8220;I could...

Funky Cold Medinas: The Easter Hat Challenge
http://funkycoldmedinas.blogspot.com/2012/03/easter-hat-challenge.html
Friday, March 16, 2012. The Easter Hat Challenge. Now that I’m a mother of two little girls and one handful of boy, I do realize that Easter is not about the new clothes, the hunting of eggs, the eating of ham or other such traditions, though traditions aren’t a bad thing when put in the right place and kept there. Easter is about celebrating our Lord and Savior’s victory over death! So, if we want to celebrate the day by wearing new duds or eating ham, well, so be it, as long as the focus is about Him.
