Wednesday, October 25, 2006. The Slave - origins. Why is this book titled. The second reference to a slave is found at the beginning of the book. Jacob is literally a slave in a foreign country. He is not a free man. His life is decided by his owners; his daily life governed by them. The third reference to being a slave is regarding Jacob’s religion. Thursday, September 28, 2006. Dinah and The Red Tent. Today in class we touched briefly (I would have liked a longer discussion) on Dinah and her supposed rape. E-Journal for Biblical Foundations of Literature/English 211 at MSU with Dr. Sexson. Tuesday, October 24, 2006. Is basically a form of commentary on the Jewish Religion. It goes greatly in depth and I suggest reading the link I have provided on the topic. There are 2 parts to the Talmud: The Mishnah. Which in Hebrew means repetition, and Gemara.
