Tuesday, November 27, 2012. LEGO holiday gift giving guide for 2012. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays of the year. I love the music, the decorations, and the lights. I also love that everyone at least tries to be a little bit nicer. Of course, I also love the gifts. Especially being on the giving end over the past few years as our nieces and nephews grow, along with our own little one. Stocking stuffers (Under $15). TIE Interceptor and Death Star. Pretty much any of the polybag sets out there rig...

Thursday, January 30, 2014. LEGO CUUSOO Fall 2013 review results are in. The LEGO CUUSOO project has released the results of the latest review period, and fans of a certain movie should be rejoicing about right now. That's a pretty obvious hint.but watch the video anyway. There were obviously many amazing projects this time around, but I'm not complaining at all about the decision the CUUSOO team made. As for the next round of sets, I'm going to give some predictions. Sherlock, Japanese old style archite...

Buried in Bricks: Building an active LUG
http://buriedinbricks.blogspot.com/2013/11/building-active-lug.html
Saturday, November 9, 2013. Building an active LUG. I have been pretty negligent about posting these past few months. Part of the reason is a rather busy work and family life schedule, but another factor is that I have been working much harder at getting my local LUG (LEGO User Group) to be much more active. Over the summer the founder of the LUG I belong to ( WisLUG. Moved out of the area. I agreed to take over the administration of the group, and it's been quite a ride since then. Pick up a Penguin.

Buried in Bricks: The Disney Princess, LEGO style
http://buriedinbricks.blogspot.com/2014/01/the-disney-princess-lego-style.html
Saturday, January 25, 2014. The Disney Princess, LEGO style. With a young daughter in the house, I am forced to admit that several of the more recent retail sets I have built are from the Friends theme. Introduced a few years ago, the line has become a favorite of my daughter and she frequently enjoys just looking at pictures of the sets online. Most of her collection is from polybags, although she did score the sweet Heartlake Pool. 41050 - Ariel's Amazing Treasures. 41051 - Merida's Highland Games.

After what feels like months of waiting, the LEGO Ideas team has finally revealed what the next two sets are going to be. You can watch the video below and then see my thoughts after the jump. I really like the birds set (and believe I voted on it, but that was oh so long ago). I imagine The Big Bang Theory. I am disappointed that neither of the Doctor Who. On the plus side, the EXO Suit. After what ...
