http://marcojoubert-mtb-racing.blogspot.com/2016/12/three-years-with-kargo-pro-cycling-team.html
Thursday, 22 December 2016. Three years with Kargo Pro Cycling team coming to an end. Next year I will not be riding in the colours of Kargo Pro Cycling team. It has been a privilege to be part of this team. A big thanks to Shaun Peschl who put it all together! Also a big thanks to The Kargo Group. Who has been the main sponsor for the team. There were many sponsors behind the team that made it possible for us to race our bikes all over South Africa and also in Europe. And later GIANT ANTHEM’S. I will sp...

Marco Joubert: Two days racing Road and MTB at Makro Bestmed Cycle Tour
http://marcojoubert-mtb-racing.blogspot.com/2016/09/two-days-racing-road-and-mtbike-at.html
Monday, 12 September 2016. Two days racing Road and MTB at Makro Bestmed Cycle Tour. The weather in PE was not at its best for racing. Before the race it looked like the road event would be wet and then clearing for the Mountain Bike race. That never happened so it was wet all the way. ROAD RACE - Saturday. With both NMMU and GIANT road teams racing it was never going to be easy. No complaints from my side. It was a good hard race. Just what my legs needed! MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE - Sunday.

Tuesday, 8 November 2016. Steeltek - Getting a win at one of SA's oldest MTB races. The Steeltek is one of the Eastern Cape's real competitive races with a rich history. The first race was held in 1990 an still they have it on every year with the same sponsor (Steeltek) since event one! At the 36 km mark with about a 5 min lead. Getting King of the Mountain was a nice bonus! 1st myself; 2nd Jason Meaton; 3rd Kyle Bradford. Short clip about 5 km into the race with a 20 second lead. Kargo Pro Cycling Team.

Sunday, 15 May 2016. Down and Out - Not by a long shot! My last update, Pro Cycling, a bumpy ride. Explained a lot and it still stands. Not much changed since then and luck is not on my side. yet. I had a really hard fall at the SA XCO Cup in KZN about three weeks. Banged my head really hard and had to skip SA XCO Cup 4 in PE. What a total bummer! The season is not over. Now if you think I am down and out for this season. Not by a long shot! Tumbling hard at SA Cup 3. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Tuesday, 22 March 2016. CAPE EPIC, A LAST MINUTE CALL. This is how we raced. all the way. (photo credit Owen Lloyd, tks for sharing). The Cape Epic is the ultimate Mountain Bike race in the world. Not many people get the opportunity to be part of it. For me it was an unreal experience. It's sort of history now but just over a week before the Cape Epic. I got a call from Shaun Peschl, our team manager to ask if I'm ready to do the Cape Epic! So you guys believe you have a shot at it? The real race started.

Marco Joubert: Langkloof MTB Challenge - 75 km solo ride to the finish
http://marcojoubert-mtb-racing.blogspot.com/2016/11/langkloof-mtb-challenge-75-km-solo-ride.html
Tuesday, 8 November 2016. Langkloof MTB Challenge - 75 km solo ride to the finish. Two weeks leading up to the race I heard about it. Being an 80km MTB marathon with a decent amount of climbing I thought this would be perfect for training. Joubertina is about a 2hr drive from PE. I had to leave early morning (4:30) and drive to the event to make the 7:30 start. I managed to break the previous course record with about 24 minutes min so that was an added bonus. It was a nice race and race vibe. Eve...Langk...

Marco Joubert: Angora MTB Classic - Back to racing
http://marcojoubert-mtb-racing.blogspot.com/2016/09/angora-mtb-classic-back-to-racing.html
Monday, 5 September 2016. Angora MTB Classic - Back to racing. It is a good feeling to be racing again. After a pretty strong start of the season a few things went wrong for me the following few months. I learned a lot about myself and my body's abilities. I have been working quite hard in the meantime and although not back at my best it is time to race and get that last bit of power back. The two of us worked together, pulling on the flats. I did not hold back much when pulling as it was all about t...

Tuesday, 26 January 2016. Two Day Drak Descent - Racing at the sharp end! The Drak descent was my first Mtb race in KZN. It went down in the Underberg, (1600m above sea level) a short but very hard and fast race. It was typically XCO style with some awesome single track. I teamed up with Alan Hatherly for the race. Brendon Davids and Andrew Warr from our team rode together and would eventually take the win. We raced hard till the end and was right up with the first two teams. Team mates Brendon and A...

Wednesday, 10 February 2016. Hitting good form at The Herald Cycle Tour! Early start at Addo Polo Club. 80 KM MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE. Being a XCO rider I knew I would be able to handle the intensity. The only problem would be to survive the distance with over three hours of racing. That is about twice as long as a XCO race. Up the pass with Matthys setting a hard pace! Hard on the peddles to close the gap to HD after he took the King of the Mountain sprint. 106 KM ROAD RACE. Again, I’am a XCO rider....
