Becoming German: November 2010
http://germanyjames.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
The Exchange Year and Beyond. What's worse than not getting mail? Knowing that people have sent you mail, but not having received it yet. Damn you, slow international shipping! After the concert Markus and I ran into a random gas station on the way back to the car, and I just about fell over when I saw that they had Mountain Dew Code Red! I bought a 4 pack, of course. So that was my Friday. Pretty great if I do not say so myself. That's all I've got at the moment. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Becoming German: November 2013
http://germanyjames.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
The Exchange Year and Beyond. Two Weeks from Twenty. At the request of my grandmother and great Aunt, I've decided to take some time out of my "busy" schedule and give everybody an update on what I've been up to in the last few weeks. Towards the end of October there wasn't much going on. I'd really settled in, met a bunch of cool people, and was finally in a normal routine, which was nice. But really, it seems. All in all it was a pretty interesting conversation. On November 9th I woke up at some ridicu...

The Exchange Year and Beyond. So I had my Birthday. On which I turned 17. It started out with my parents coming into my room at 06:00 with a cake, and singing Happy Brithday to me, and giving me some super awesome HSV tattoos! Then I got ready, after that we had breakfast 'together', and I opened up my presents. From Christoph, Johannes, and Markus I got a ticket to the Hurricane Festival. Me on My birthday with my cake and presents in the background. Random picture of Lennart, Markus, and me. So it's be...

Monday, April 14, 2014. The title of this blog post, 'More Student Exchanges', might be a little confusing considering I'm on a year. Long student exchange. But let me explain. In the months leading up to my trip to France, I learned a tiny bit of French using the website duolingo. So that I would be able to recognize a few words and phrases while in France. View from Centre Pompidou. Double click the photos in. Order to enlarge them). Chilling along the Seine. The Swedish exchange students and some of.

Thursday, August 29, 2013. Or as they would actually say here, Grüß Gott! My last week in Straßberg flew by. Table tennis practice, shopping and hanging out in Harzgerode, geocaching (geocatching! Spending time with my host family, potluck dinner/goodbye party, and as always, having fun at school was a great way to end my time in Straßberg. Monday, December 9, 2013. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Made a wreath, and spent a good part of yesterday baking Lebkuchen, which is sort of like gingerbread. I got to see the new 'Hunger Games' movie with some friends, and thought it was really good and just love watching films in general. That's all for now- tschüssi! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Saturday, February 22, 2014. A note before reading; I know the pictures in this post are small, but if you click on them, then you can see all of them a bit larger). A few weeks ago I got to travel to Berlin for my week-long half year seminar for YFU. Although we didn't have time to see all that Berlin has to offer, I think it's a really cool city and I hope to be able to go back some day. But anyway, on to the stuff I. Basically the coolest thing ever! Which then inspired this movie. Last night I went t...

Sunday, January 26, 2014. Finally a bit of snow! So my whole 'update my blog every two weeks' plan isn't going very well, but oh well! Anyway, here's whats been going on lately in Oberbayern. I went back to school (from having vacation) and it was really nice to see all of my friends again. :) The 11th was my host sister's birthday so a couple friends came over and we made dinner, and hung out, and played Tabu (in german, and I did pretty well! The theater where the concert was held was gorgeous. Getting...

The Exchange Year and Beyond. So slowly buy surely we are coming down to the last few days before I head off to Germany and the beautiful city of Regensburg. I'd like to start off by letting you know that to the right of this post there are links to some awesome blogs of other people currently living abroad. Check them out! How am I getting there? How will I pay for things? Next post will come once I'm in Germany, but it'll probably won't be until after I've been there for a few weeks. Wake up and LIVE.
