Brisbane Harvest: Creamy Kale Pasta
http://brisbaneharvest.blogspot.com/2010/08/creamy-kale-pasta.html
Adventures cooking and eating local produce. Friday, August 6, 2010. Last week we received a gorgeous bunch of kale in our box. I was in the mood for something creamy and warming for a chilly winter night. But, I also wanted in include something fresh and use leftovers! Below is my creamy kale pasta recipe as a result. 2 cloves of minced garlic. 2 chopped spring onions. 1 bunch of kale. Washed and roughly chopped. 1/3 cup pure cream. 1/2 can of condensed tomato soup. Smoked paprika and pepper to taste.
Brisbane Harvest: Broccoli and potato pizza
http://brisbaneharvest.blogspot.com/2010/04/broccoli-and-potato-pizza.html
Adventures cooking and eating local produce. Saturday, April 17, 2010. Broccoli and potato pizza. Are two pizza toppings that taste fantastic, but I haven't enjoyed them since living in New York and Melbourne respectively. Anyway, before the toppings comes the dough-making athleticism of my beloved husband Morgan! See the recipe here. Last night he even allowed me to touch the stuff mid-knead. I felt like a bit of a duffer, every time I tried to gently squish the dough, it tore. Ah well, practise...Oil a...
Brisbane Harvest: Bread and Butter Pudding with Croissants
http://brisbaneharvest.blogspot.com/2010/06/bread-and-butter-pudding-with.html
Adventures cooking and eating local produce. Saturday, June 5, 2010. Bread and Butter Pudding with Croissants. We got a vanilla pod in our box last week! How decadent and perfect for chilly nights! Morgan has been taking such good care of me, he's the genius behind this dish. I'm just the blogger and appreciative eater! This recipe is a mixture of old-Amish. 2 cups Barambah organic milk. 1/3 cup brown sugar. 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 3 Place bread in a lightly greased dish.
Brisbane Harvest: Persimmon Cookies
http://brisbaneharvest.blogspot.com/2010/04/persimmon-cookies.html
Adventures cooking and eating local produce. Thursday, April 22, 2010. Oh my gosh Morgan made Persimmon cookies. He got the recipe straight out of the Food Connect newsletter this week. 1 tsp baking soda. 2 cups plain flour. 1 tsp ground cinnamon. 1 tsp ground nutmeg (we didn't have any, so we used cloves). 1 cup white or raw sugar. 1 cup raisins (we used dates). 1 cup chopped walnuts (we used almonds). Preheat oven to 180ºC. Dissolve baking soda in persimmon pulp, then set aside. May 26, 2010 at 1:58 PM.
Brisbane Harvest: May 2013
http://brisbaneharvest.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Adventures cooking and eating local produce. Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Banana and almond meal muffins. Am I the only one who feels a frisson of excitement with fresh almond meal in the cupboard? On the weekend I had almond meal plus ripe bananas. I wondered if anyone had made almond meal muffins with banana? Of course they had. 1 cup almond meal. 1 cup (fresh*) self-raising flour. 1 teaspoon bicarb of soda (I didn't have baking powder. 1/3 cup caster sugar. 1 pinch of salt. 1/4 cup macadamia nut oil. The Inner City Cook: The simple things, plus Chicken and Vegetables in Oyster Sauce
http://innercitycook.blogspot.com/2010/07/simple-things-plus-chicken-and.html
The Inner City Cook. A place for food, recipes, shopping and eating in Sydney's Inner West. Tuesday, July 13, 2010. The simple things, plus Chicken and Vegetables in Oyster Sauce. That said, I can see the reasoning, at least in terms of the time-poor. It's not everyone who has the time to come home and make a proper meal accompanied by a freshly made sauce and sides. And for a lot of people, cooking is a chore (gasp! Not something to do because you like it. Chicken and Vegetables in Oyster Sauce. But I p...
The Inner City Cook
http://innercitycook.blogspot.com/2010/08/its-odd-that-its-nearly-three-months.html
The Inner City Cook. A place for food, recipes, shopping and eating in Sydney's Inner West. Friday, August 27, 2010. It's odd that it's nearly three months months into this blog and have only written up one pasta dish - and a non-typical one at that! But if there's anything in my repertoire that I would have to call a 'signature dish', it's pasta with any kind of red sauce. In particular, my evolution of Puttanesca. And yeah, if you're thinking this is a backwards step out of flavour country, you're righ...
The Inner City Cook: June 2010

The Inner City Cook. A place for food, recipes, shopping and eating in Sydney's Inner West. Friday, June 25, 2010. Beef bourguignon, or, more accurately, how not to make beef bourguignon. Sorry for the absence folks. Had a business trip to the US where I had planned to not only cover off on the work I had to do, but also talk about food a bit. So, let's drift back in time to a dinner party I hosted a little while ago, for a lesson in how far you can push a recipe and still make it work. Normally I like t...
The Inner City Cook: One pot cooking, good prep, plus hearty (vaguely Greek) beef casserole
http://innercitycook.blogspot.com/2010/07/one-pot-cooking-plus-hearty-vaguely.html
The Inner City Cook. A place for food, recipes, shopping and eating in Sydney's Inner West. Monday, July 26, 2010. One pot cooking, good prep, plus hearty (vaguely Greek) beef casserole. One pot, slow cooking methods are an odd mixture of convenience and time-commitment. It's not the kind of thing you can really do in a hurry, obviously, and once you start cooking you're kind of stuck with dinner plans from about three in the afternoon. As usual, our Feedbag delivery came through with some great stuff, i...

The Inner City Cook. A place for food, recipes, shopping and eating in Sydney's Inner West. Friday, May 28, 2010. Roast vegetables on couscous with Moroccan tomato sauce. Sometimes all you can manage when you stand in front of the kitchen is to assemble food, rather than really cook it or get too fancy. On the week that the magazine I edit goes to press (ie, the dreaded. deadline week! That pretty much sums me up as a cook. Since this has been that very week, I present to you my latest assemblage! Tackle...
The Inner City Cook: Not dead yet, plus loving pork
http://innercitycook.blogspot.com/2010/08/not-dead-yet-plus-loving-pork.html
The Inner City Cook. A place for food, recipes, shopping and eating in Sydney's Inner West. Monday, August 16, 2010. Not dead yet, plus loving pork. I do kind of wish I was, though. Dead, that is, not pork. We'll get to pork later, but for now, I'm stupidly, fiendishly busy. In fact, I've nabbed this time only because I'm waiting for a flight overseas (to Germany, where there will be beer - and sausage! So yeah, dead - because I figure at least then I could fit in some time to write a bit more. You'll no...
The Inner City Cook: September 2010
http://innercitycook.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
The Inner City Cook. A place for food, recipes, shopping and eating in Sydney's Inner West. Monday, September 13, 2010. Memory and food, and Spaghetti Bolognese. It's that classic thing, the mix of food and memory. All it takes is a single taste and you can thrown back in time. Maybe it's a childhood memory, maybe it's the table and kitchen of an ex-lover. But food has an incredible power - it engages all the senses, so is a remarkable trigger for memory. I loved any bolognese night. A good portion o...

http://innercitycook.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
The Inner City Cook. A place for food, recipes, shopping and eating in Sydney's Inner West. Monday, August 30, 2010. Super fresh seafood goodness. Our latest batch of market freshness arrived over the weekend, and it was a real seafood special. On top of a pretty excellent veg selection and a tonne of blood oranges, it included fresh whole snapper and about well over two dozen mussels. It was a big seafood weekend! Mussels in white wine and tomato. First order of the day - get your water on to boil. ...
