Focus on the Good. July 27, 2012. In the world of concrete jungles and jutting mountains, there is little space for a full on golf course. Sure, there are some famous and beautiful courses in Korea, but those are not perfectly located right between your neighborhood market and subway. Screen golf is a whole different story though! There is a five or ten minute practice session. You can practice swing and then watch the screen, it will record a video and play it back. I spent a lot of time doing this....

Focus on the Good. June 29, 2012. Shark Diving in the Busan Aquarium. Earlier this month, Mike and I went down to Busan to scuba dive in their shark tank. Having gone to the Aquarium when I first arrived in 2010, I have wanted to try diving in it for a long time. I didn't appreciate the drinking culture that allowed crimes to be dismissed or ignored ( link. I struggled with watching friends, some as close as family, leave to return to their home countries. Focus on the Good. October 30, 2013. Like our imaginations were in shape then. The temples here are so whimsical. I find myself photographing the roofing from every angle, changing all of my settings, trying to capture the vivid colors and meticulous detailing. This shot is from two weeks ago, wandering around the city with a friend from couchsurfing. Watch this and be completely impressed; I've been playing it on repeat today. It is the same guy who went viral for his "Porkchop vs Karate Chop" video.

I live, I learn, I travel, I write. Sunday, June 20, 2010. So yeah, we were there for a few hours before we decided to head back (and to beat the rush hour on the trains here). I'm excited to go back and actually see Kyoto again. It's going to be so different navigating through the city by myself, and not with a tour guide. On Saturday morning, some of the students from Shiga Daigaku came over to JCMU and taught us how to make Japanese-style curry. It was DELICIOUS. And easy! Saturday, June 12, 2010.

Unfortunately, although I spent two-and-a-half days in DC, I only have photo documentation of the first one. But that was the day we actually went out and did things, so I suppose it works out.
