The helmet arrived! – The Brompton Rat
https://thebromptonrat.wordpress.com/2013/06/02/the-helmet-arrived
June 2, 2013. My new helmet has arrived, but alas the Brompton is still on the other side of the pond. I’ve started searching the web for bags and luggage to accent the bike, as I plan to travel a little (or a lot) depending on my situation. The bike is still another six weeks away, so I’m looking for idea’s. Thus far I have found an interesting idea for increasing the size of the pedal without compromising the design mechanics of the folding mechanism. Bromfoot.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Dirty Brompton: Bromfoot 2 Folding Pedal Extender / Protector: First Impressions
http://thedirtybrompton.blogspot.com/2013/12/bromfoot-2-folding-pedal-extender.html
Thursday, December 19, 2013. Bromfoot 2 Folding Pedal Extender / Protector: First Impressions. In my early days with the ODB, I would inadvertently "overfold" the folding pedal and would scratch the raw lacquer finish. This was upsetting, particularly on such a beautiful, expensive bike. When I got Mondrian, I was determined to not let that happen again. I recalled in an earlier post that Jeff from Bromfoot. Suggested using his product in order to prevent this from happening. I bought mine at Portapedal.

June 2013 – The Brompton Rat
https://thebromptonrat.wordpress.com/2013/06
June 12, 2013. Taking advantage of this beautiful day, I decided to commute on two wheels instead of four. The round trip is approximately 21 miles, so it makes for a nice ride. I have another planned for this evening. A little shorter, so makes for a good “work” day ride. Of course my spare inner tube and all my bike tools were back home. Where else would they be, I was commuting, not out biking! So do I walk or ride with a flat. I reasoned on the latter. Should I be concerned? Be careful out there.

July 29, 2013. Bethpage to Jones Beach. My first long trip on “Lizzy”. Bethpage State Park to Jones Beach and back. A distance of just over 28 miles. The weather conditions are perfect, low 80’s, high humidity and a strong headwind. Maybe I should rethink this as there is no shade once I hit the “Parkway”! The Brompton is certainly a different riding style for me. It’s going to be a learning experience. After a short rest at the beach (water, apple and a banana), It was time to head back. For the remaini...

The Dirty Brompton: December 2013

Friday, December 27, 2013. Ortlieb mini-o bag: initial impressions. Merry Christmas to me! I just got a white Ortlieb Mini-O bag (to be honest, I got it just before Christmas to use, sans Brompton, on my USA east coast trip.). I've been eyeing one of these bags ever since I've got Mondrian. The smaller area and more rigid surface should make me a little more aerodynamic. This should be great for when I am zipping around town and don't need to carry a change of clothes or anything else substantial. Only 1...

The Dirty Brompton: January 2014

Sunday, January 19, 2014. Mondrian with yellow Tannus tires. I gotta say, I think this combo looks pretty dope. Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Back at Interbike, Todd was frantically searching for the Tannus. Stand I had no idea who they were or what they did. When were found them, I discovered that they make solid tires. Todd had read up on some Brompton riders who have had them installed and had varying levels of satisfaction with them. Some had loved them. And others not so much. There is also another t...

Tuesday, February 25, 2014. ShareRoller electric motor drive. Update: Included pictures and Kickstarter preview link. Remember when I mentioned over the holidays that Bromfoot. Creator Jeff Guida had something cooking? Well, Jeff’s finally allowing me to share what it is! It’s ShareRoller, a portable electric friction drive system for several types of bikes, including Bromptons! The unit resembles a very small suitcase and weighs about 6 or 7 pounds. And Washington D.C.’s Capital Bikeshare. There are two...
