b r o o k l y n t w e e d: Taking Stock

http://brooklyntweed.blogspot.com/2007/09/taking-stock.html

One of the best parts of moving (. In retrospect can I deem this as a positive) is the inevitability of taking stock of all those nasty WIP. Knits that we so easily find ways of ignoring (hiding from ourselves). In organizing all the stuff that needed to move from one Brooklyn walk-up to another, I tried hard not to shudder as the pile of unfinished knits continued to grow exponentially. One room gets cleaned and 3 more stow-aways rear their ugly heads. Repeat for every room of the apartment. Almost imme...

http://brooklyntweed.blogspot.com/2008/06/knitted-garter-stith-blanket-aka-big.html

Knitted Garter Stitch Blanket (AKA Big Squishy Lovefest). Of all the things I've knit, I can't remember a time when I've been more smitten. With a project. Sure there may have been things that we more exciting or eventful to work on but nothing (and I mean nothing. Is better for wrapping yourself up in than this. (I realize the timing of this post is absolutely ridiculous as I'm writing in the middle of this summer's first heat wave, but there it is). Knitted Garter Stitch Blanket in Sheepsdown ( Ravelry.

b r o o k l y n t w e e d: Noro Scarf

http://brooklyntweed.blogspot.com/2007/04/noro-scarf.html

I know I've said it before, but there are some projects that I think I enjoy photographing even more than knitting (we're splitting hairs here, but there it is). This scarf is surely one of them - and this post is so photo heavy, I doubt the text will be able to hold its own. Generic 1x1 Ribbed Striped Scarf (See details below). 45 silk 45 kid mohair 10 lambswool. 4 balls in total in Shades 201 (2 balls), 234, and 86; Approx. 440yds/200g. US 7/4.5 mm KnitPicks. Sent me over the edge. Colorways: I can app...

b r o o k l y n t w e e d: The Hemlock Ring Blanket

http://brooklyntweed.blogspot.com/2007/08/hemlock-ring-blanket.html

The Hemlock Ring Blanket. Walking around Brooklyn the last few days, I've noticed the slightest change in the air. Autumn is beckoning and this knitter can't think of any better reward for making it through another hot summer. My inaugural Fall project is draped over my lap as I type and I find myself ready for cooler winds, wooly knits and fresh transitions. My modification of the Hemlock Ring. Link no longer works, see note below) vintage doily (1942), with added chart. Just shy of 4 feet in diameter.

The Jilly Knits...: Right to the Heart

http://thejilly.blogspot.com/2008/08/right-to-heart.html

Since I'm always getting bored and needing to learn something new, I thought it might be nice to have a place to keep track of my lastest projects. And why not be able to access it from anywhere and share it with everyone? So, here it is. For now, I guess this will be my knitting blog. I'll try to keep track of pattern names, yarn used, problems, etc. And I'd like a "photo library" of sorts to document all the finished projects. Friday, August 22, 2008. Right to the Heart. Or is it just me? Crafty Pancak...

53 million minutes of me. 53 million minutes.just 101 short years of life. that's all the minutes you get if you live to one hundred and one. here it is. enjoy. By William P. Young. My rating: 5 of 5 stars. I believe you can't take the book word for word as definite ways to imagine god, but i do believe the experiences told in the story are great explanations of how god works, at least how i've experienced him. Read this book, it's a great story and it's one you will learn so much from. Links to this post.

We’ll add the other “n” soon. Really. Archive for November, 2007. Joie’s Late Week Recipes: Caramelised Bacon and Tomatoes with Boccocini, Spaghetti and Love. November 19, 2007. With any enthusiasm. We have Boat Drinks. About Knits and Ass. January 29, 2016. Well well. Have I really skipped the entire year of 2015 without posting once? You would think I would have something to show for it – more money, a new person in my life, another excellent hobby – but no. Just same old me doing the same old stuff. Not especially, if you look at the FOs – mittens, throws, lots of hats. But if you look at the yarn, my objective is clear: get. rid. of. all. that. fucking. yarn.
