Trinity Alps Photo: Poison Canyon
http://trinityalpsphoto.blogspot.com/2007/12/poison-canyon.html
A photo guide to the Trinity Alps. Most of the CCC's would where their rain gear with their hoods cinched tight to keep the bites to a minimum. I found that a roasted garlic a day (and a lot of DET) keeps the bugs away. Even in late summer a good pair. Of water proof boots are. Very nice to have on this hike. Walking along the trail you will notice a wide variety of tree and plant life. The trail passes through a few small fern meadows before climbing up to the main meadow. Lion and Foster Lakes. Trinity Alps Photo: Bear Lakes
http://trinityalpsphoto.blogspot.com/2007/12/bear-lakes.html
A photo guide to the Trinity Alps. Bear Lake is one of the grandest lakes in the Trinity Alps. From the trail head you will gain 3,000 feet on your five mile climb to the lake. This makes it best done as a day hike. In the first mile there is good creek access making for nice side hikes. After one mile you'll cross a foot bridge and start climbing above the creek through an old forest fire. It's in here that you find the best camping along Bear Creek. Bear Lake is one of my favorite winter hikes. Pacific...

Trinity Alps Photo: Swift Creek Trail
http://trinityalpsphoto.blogspot.com/2007/12/swift-creek-trail.html
A photo guide to the Trinity Alps. Swift Creek is the prime destination in the Trinity Alps. The trail follows the creek most the way through an old growth forest with some of the largest sugar pines I've ever seen. After less than a mile you'll be treated to the Swift Creek Gorge. Shortly after this you'll come to the Bear Basin trail junction. There are some great camp sites in the upper and lower meadows. Next along the Swift Creek Trail is Parker Meadows. The trail continues to follow Swift Creek pas...

Trinity Alps Photo: Base Camp
http://trinityalpsphoto.blogspot.com/2007/12/caribou-lakes_13.html
A photo guide to the Trinity Alps. It may surprise you to learn that the Trinity Alps is the second largest wilderness in the state of California. While the east side with its towering granite spires brings the crowds, the whole west side of the map gets almost no use. You could easily spend a week exploring the countless creeks and. Love the sight, thanks for sharing all the cool photos! March 10, 2009 at 11:49 AM. Man, what a great collection of photographs and information! July 2, 2009 at 10:46 AM.

Trinity Alps Photo: Boulder and Little Boulder Lakes
http://trinityalpsphoto.blogspot.com/2007/12/bolder-and-little-bolder-lakes.html
A photo guide to the Trinity Alps. Boulder and Little Boulder Lakes. This is no doubt the easiest hike in the Trinity Alps Wilderness. The drive however is one of the worst with over ten miles of steep dirt road you will gain almost all your elevation on the drive up. From the trail head only one mile of relativity flat trail leads up over the ridge. About half way to Boulder Lake you pass the trail junction for Little Boulder Lake. And school field trip. Fishing is good and campsites are everywhere.

El Remaro's Log: Christmas 2012
http://jhardwic.blogspot.com/2012/12/christmas-2012.html
El jornal del Remaro. Experiencias y pensamentos del dia. SF Bay Area Hiking Trails. View my complete profile. Monday, December 24, 2012. The Hardwicks have had another very good year. We spent a week at Lake Almanor and hiked in Lassen National Park with our oldest son, James, and his family. We spent many days watching Kooper’s baseball games, flag football games, and wrestling matches, and Marley and Elaine’s soccer games. The two were also 4H clothing and textiles leaders again. Jim tilled and weeded.
