Edge of Paradise: Extreme's
http://mustangpilot.blogspot.com/2007/05/extremes.html
Just a few pilots notes from my time working with Airserv International. Monday, May 28, 2007. The second night we joined our passengers in Djolu. A small village about 180 miles west of Kisangani. Thick jungle surrounds Djolu. In every direction. There is NO electricity in the entire town, and certainly not cell phone coverage. I knew the night was going to interesting when after we landed a local NGO. Staff member took me on a dirt bike. What once was a school, and women planting their. We passed the n...

http://mustangpilot.blogspot.com/2007/07/we-arent-in-congo-anymore.html
Just a few pilots notes from my time working with Airserv International. Monday, July 2, 2007. We aren't in Congo anymore! We are flying for the UN here, funded via USAID in support of the many development projects in process here. Your tax dollars hard at work! Road construction, dam building, and water systems are just a few of the many pieces of the pie. Well hope all is well with everyone! Till next time,. That sounds like too much fun! Edge of Paradise: June 2007
http://mustangpilot.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Just a few pilots notes from my time working with Airserv International. Saturday, June 23, 2007. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Wow how things have changed. As you may remember our base in Kinshasa closed and I transitioned to Lubumbashi. There I had the chance to visit with my buddies Bruce and Steve as well as get to know everyone in the base there. Jeremy, Cindy, and Alan all welcomed me warmly and quickly became good friends. The next day we took an ATV safari through some of t...

Edge of Paradise: October 2007
http://mustangpilot.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Just a few pilots notes from my time working with Airserv International. Thursday, October 4, 2007. OK I admit I am pretty horrible at this whole keeping people updated about things with my blog, I didn't even realize just how long it had been. I apologize to all who have been faithful about checking and have been quite disappointed for so long. The statues are gone but the caverns and outline still remain. It was amazing stepping back in history 1000 years! I had the privilege of being an usher for my f...

IDR in the World!: Thank and Pray
http://idrintheworld.blogspot.com/2008/11/thank-and-pray.html
IDR in the World! Wednesday, November 26, 2008. As we thank God for our families and friends. Let us pray for those who are lonely. As we thank God for our homes and fireplaces. Let us pray for those who can't get a bed in the homeless shelters tonight, because they are full, and it's 35 degrees. As we thank God for our jobs and paychecks. Let us pray for those who have lost theirs, or a in transition. As we thank God for the Turkey. Let us pray for those who are hungry. As we thank God for peace. We inv...

IDR in the World!: B-more
http://idrintheworld.blogspot.com/2009/05/b-more.html
IDR in the World! Saturday, May 23, 2009. Recently, as in, this week, I attended the national MVS retreat at Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp in Colorado. We spent time hiking, hanging out, and eating yummy food. We had several sessions with our speaker, a pastor from California, on sex-being sexual, worshiping God with our bodies, what the Bible has to say on homosexuality and premarital sex were just some of the topics covered. Sometimes I fake appendicitis just to get out of the house. Sometimes it's fun...

IDR in the World!: Ode to Petra
http://idrintheworld.blogspot.com/2011/10/ode-to-petra.html
IDR in the World! Saturday, October 8, 2011. This song became my anthem back in junior high, when it first came out and was playing on the radio. My family started taking in foster kids when I was about ten. Every one of those children had a heart-wrenching story and needed an abundant supply of love, patience and understanding to handle their terror, anger, confusion and pain. The first year we had over twenty hurting children come in and out of our lives. Now I need this song again. Amy (in Ethiopia),.

http://idrintheworld.blogspot.com/2008/02/idr-annual-superbowl-party.html
IDR in the World! Tuesday, February 12, 2008. IDR Annual Superbowl Party. Wherever two or three are gathered, there I am in the midst of them.". With 21 adults and 6 of the "pre-young adults," we packed out the widescreen TV room at the Hershberger house. Standing room only! Thanks to Kevin and Susie for letting us storm your castle. We're rooting for the underdogs! And WHERE are the good commercials, these days, we wonder? Or at least those of us who understand football did. March 20, 2008 at 3:15 AM.
