Rusty Jones, Painter's Blog: June 2013
http://rustyjonesstudiocom.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Rusty Jones, Painter's Blog. Sunday, June 23, 2013. A DAY IN THE FIELD and THE RETURN TO BLOGGING. So I apologize for being such a sap for that little "Like" button. I am recommitting to writing two blog posts a week, one on Sunday and one on Wednesday. Some of the posts will be about current events and workshops and others will be about techniques and tips for all the artists following my blog. So with that in mind let's get started. My first scene of the day is this run down farm house. It is an overca...

Rusty Jones, Painter's Blog. Friday, March 27, 2015. IMAGES THAT WON'T GO AWAY. The thing that captured my interest was the cold blues and purples in the shadow areas in contrast to the bright greens and yellows from the morning sun lighting up a distant hill. I took one photo before leaving the scene promising myself that one day I was going to paint that scene. TODAY IS THAT DAY! 16" x 20" oil on canvas. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Rusty Jones, Painter's Blog: July 2013
http://rustyjonesstudiocom.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

I've never painted a shiny car before so this is a challenge. I'm trying to stay loose so I boldly put down colors and strokes. I get to this point and realiz...

Rusty Jones, Painter's Blog: September 2013
http://rustyjonesstudiocom.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Rusty Jones, Painter's Blog. Monday, September 16, 2013. A DAY IN THE STUDIO. The scene I've chosen is a gully near Riverside, California. I 've drawn a sketch from three different reference photos. The distant hill came from one, the gully came from another and the group of trees to the right from a third. The left hand trees I have made up to balance the painting. On a bookshelf sits a timer I've set for three hours. I'm anxious to see if I can get this puppy finished in the allotted time. I have put i...
