Thursday, March 30, 2006. Eternal Face of the Sunshine Smile. It’s a beautiful sunny spectacular day,. Have been thinking about the social and economic factors that impact gender roles, I was thinking: Should I cut my hair? Or let it grow? I walked to Fancy Chic, Slightly Intimidating Giant, peopled with Very Skinny Bethesda Mommies, for two prepackaged California rolls. For lunch. I also bought products for a basket they are putting together for my colleague with a Bad Diagnosis. View my complete profile.

Tuesday, May 16, 2006. Happy Anniversary to.Zeldafitz! Hullo Mates. Yes, one year ago today I began this humble site. So, in honor of The Big Day, I decided to publish a haiku of sorts, taken from the "Keyword Analysis" on my statcounter. So, blogesque,. For the uninitiated, the key word analysis shows the words people punch into a search engine, that direct them to your site. They type in these enigmatic queries, and somehow the words match well enough with a part of your own content. I drive barefoot,.

Thursday, May 19, 2005. Existential Questioning of Life Direction. I lay in bed this morning with every intention of going through the "Groundhog Day" morning production:. Then come upstairs to the ceaseless demand station manned by 2 1/2 year old son Ian. "Mommy I want." Lots of things. "Milk on cereal, change channel, change diaper, get dressed, come here, another piece of toast, sippy, I don't like 'Arthur,' Nick hit me.". Is it on PBS? He doesn't like 'Zoom,' he wants 'Teletubbies'.". I decide, compl...

Friday, May 19, 2006. Spring is the Cruellest Month. I was chatting with m'son Nick this morning after he and MZA got back from a morning walk. He said, in reference to his wet socks, "There's one downside to spring, it almost always rains at night. Spring isn't always the happy-go-lucky gazelle running through the buttercup field.". Thursday, July 07, 2005. Maybe Clydesdales aren’t supposed to go on vacation. It’s too confusing. We bolted, ladies and germs, up to the Cape, or the Cod, as I cleverly like to call it, for the July 4th weekend. Look out Muffy! Here comes the blended Catholic Muslim family ready for fun, lockjaw and Kennedy-esque respite-ry. Ooooooooooo the Cape, where everyone goes to get in touch with their inner WASP, hence all the Jewish therapists who live there year round. Um, I like the Cape. Can you tell? Hardwoo...

Sunday, February 12, 2006. Some people have the year of living dangerously. Apparently I am having the Year of the Emergency Room. A couple of weeks ago, m’daughter Daisy was hospitalized,. And then Friday morning my sister called to say my mother had fallen and they were taking her to the emergency room. Birth School Work Death. Winter by the Rolling Stones was playing on my CD player. Sometimes I want to wrap my coat around you. I don’t know what I am facing. Will my mother die this weekend? I arrive a...

Thursday, June 16, 2005. Take two toddlers and call me. It turns out that a great reversal of work-induced despair can sometimes be found in the prosaic, mini-bucolic landscape of your backyard. I came home last night like Willy Loman, stooped, freighted with. Futility- all the good things- and Ian came running toward me from the back door and said, with that excellent, toddler, matter-of-fact, newly learned conversational acumen, "Hi Mommy, you want to come outside with me? One way street once was.

Saturday, May 13, 2006. I took two hours off yesterday, from my basement work schedule as Larry Tate starring in Phantom of the Opera, to man the duck pond at Nick’s spring carnival. It took me about half an hour to transform myself from Lon Chaney mode:. Into Perfect Exuberant Springtime Selfless Volunteer Mommy. After the screams of, Look! Died down, I got to work manning a blue plastic pond, with glass beads at the bottom and a passel of hard plastic, slightly grungy, duckies floating in it. But then ...
