Converting A STD Camplate To Reverse. The STD plate must have the center pressed out. It is sweated in so must be heated while pressing and it will go off with a bang! After removal of the center, check plate for flatness and correct if possibly. Put a 45 deg. Chamfer on the outer end of the center. Measure the width of the plate and subtract the depth of the grooves from that figure. What’s left is the width of the spacer required to go on the center before refitting the plate. Beeza Bills BSA A10 Gearbox. How I converted a Scrambles cluster to Close-Ratio:. I noticed in the SC cluster, that M/S 2. Gear looked like L/S 3. Gear in a STD cluster [both 19T]. Sure enough the STD L/S 3. Would fit in the SC M/S 2. Position but not vice-versa. The SC M/S 2. Gear dog center diameter is smaller and prevents it from engaging with a STD L/S 1.
