Monday, October 18, 2010. October Campout Report- Purtis Creek SP. This month's campout was 3 years in the making; we finally took a canoe camping trip, where everything and everyone was transported by canoe; we had a blast! A total of 9 boys and 4 adults attended this campout at Purtis Creek State Park. Troop 42 of Whitewright was gracious enough to loan us their canoe trailer with 8 boats, 16 paddles, and 16 life jackets; thank you! No one tipped, and no gear got wet. We also had to carry in our water.
