Learn to Scuba Dive. The Branch (BSAC49) was established in 1957 and is one of the oldest British Sub-Aqua Club's branches. Originally, the Club was based at Ilford and known as Ilford British Sub-Aqua Club-Branch 49. The Branch would meet at the Cauliflower Pub in High Road, Ilford and train in the old Ilford Baths across the road. In 1987, we leased land in Central Park, Gooshays Drive, Harold Hill from Havering Council. In 1988, we commenced the building of our current. Which was built by Club members.

The Club has around 100 members, with its own Clubhouse incorporating a fully licensed bar and hall. We are located in the Romford, Essex area. We have a RIB(Rigid inflatable boat), which is used regularly for diving in UK coastal waters. The Club has many Qualified Instructors and teaches according to the BSAC Diver Training program.

Learn to Scuba Dive. The Club has a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB): This is regularly moored at Newhaven Mariner for the summer. Our RIB is a 5 meter Humber with a 80hp outboard engine and is capable of carrying 6 fully kitted Divers plus Coxswain. The RIB is fully kitted out with GPS, fish finders, VHF Radio, flares and oxygen. It is used regularly throughout the Dive season and is taken on Club holidays in the UK. The Club currently charges members 5 each plus fuel to dive off the Club RIB.
