http://austrianinchicago.blogspot.com/2011/03/i-want-to-ride-my-bicycle.html
An Austrian in Chicago. My life as an Austrian in Chicago. Thursday, March 31, 2011. I Want to Ride My Bicycle. De Salamander - a windmill I used to cycle past on my way to work. According to what I've read this is only going to get worse after the baby is born. At least for a little while. I've been trying to find ways to deal with this abundance of feelings. I found one good way to deal with it is to turn on some music and go into full nesting mode - cleaning, organizing, planning. I do it for ...Anoth...

An Austrian in Chicago. My life as an Austrian in Chicago. Friday, February 19, 2010. Woman vs. Chicken. I hate making roast chicken. It just really grosses me out. But I started making my own chicken stock about a year ago and once you have made and used your own chicken stock you can never go back to using bouillon cubes. On Resonance: Chocolate Fondant
http://onresonance.blogspot.com/2008/09/chocolate-fondant.html
Sunday, 21 September 2008. Magazine has a recipe for Chocolate Fondant, so I thought I would give this recipe a try. Upon looking at the list of ingredients, I was skeptical as to whether it would work. However, to my surprise, the puddings were a success! Chocolate Fondant (serves 6). 200g high quality dark chocolate. 240g unsalted butter, in blocks. 30g flour, sifted. In another bowl, beat together the eggs and sugar until the mixture is light and foamy. Fold in the chocolate mixture and sifted flo...

Sorry it's been so long since I've rapped at ya. I've frequently intended to post again, but never got around to it. And for now, my post is going to be kind of lame - I feel a burning need to link to my favorite YouTube clips. Is a delightfully silly video which accumulated a bunch of Darth Vader scenes from "Star Wars", but replaced his dialogue with lines from other James Earl Jones movies. Is a video I took with my digital camera showing our cat playing pool. Posted by contrarybear @ 3:37 PM.

http://onresonance.blogspot.com/2008/03/hot-cross-buns.html
Monday, 24 March 2008. During Easter, I would always have Hot Cross Buns. As they are not readily available here in the Netherlands, I decided to make some myself this Easter. Once again, Donna Hays ' Modern Classics Book 2. Provided the recipe and around 4pm on Easter Sunday, we were enjoying butter smothered buns straight from the oven. On other occasions, the same recipe can be used to prepare a simple fruit bun, without the cross. 1 tablespoon active dry yeast. 1/2 cup caster (superfine) sugar. Prehe...

Tuesday, 10 August 2010. While I was trying to find another way of contacting the vendor, I came across a forum with. So glowing stories about this particular on-line supplier. I decided to send a formal letter to the vendor, but also contacted the. For a part I never received let alone used! Given some of my more recent ...

I think we must be in some kind of golden age of television, here in the 00's. Even if you put aside the astounding output of HBO, I've really enjoyed shows like Arrested Development and Heroes and Firefly and How I Met Your Mother and Dexter, and even gotten pulled into girlier stuff like Project Runway and Ugly Betty. I guess I'll have to catch up with that Soprano show too at some point. Good things lie ahead. Posted by contrarybear @ 4:58 PM. Chicago, United States. View my complete profile.
