He called his nephew, and thanks for that because the nephew carried our two carry-on bags and one of our two small backpacks up the 130 steps to the apartment! About 2/3 of the way to Manarola we stopped at a little pizzeria for a beverage and snack. The bruschette was average to good and very satisfying (along with a nice glass of wine).
