Phil in Thailand 2006. Wednesday, January 17, 2007. Back in New Zealand. Well I'm back in NZ now. I'm very glad it's summer cuz even now it doesn't feel quite as warm as it should be! Very good to be greeted by Gareth and Carissa at the airport, even though I had to wear balloon animals in front of everyone at the airport as part of my welcome home! Gareth, me, and Carissa at the Wellington Airport. (that balloon hat thing is another couple feet high). I'm definitely glad I went to Thailand, and if anyon...

http://thaiphil.blogspot.com/2006/12/thailand-1.html
Phil in Thailand 2006. Friday, December 08, 2006. Well, I have been in Thailand 5 days now, and it has been pretty full on. Had a good break in Australia first. Bit dramatic. But a really good rest with my family. So far we have been involved in handing out information fliers and tracts on campus, helping out with English and Bible lessons. We have met quite a few Chinese students so far, so on Wednesday night, we had a trilingual Bible study, in Thai, English and Chinese! Johnny and Anne are expecting a...

Phil in Thailand 2006: The Final Word
http://thaiphil.blogspot.com/2006/12/final-word.html
Phil in Thailand 2006. Wednesday, December 27, 2006. So far, my conclusions from the trip? Do I love the Thai people and see their need for the gospel? Is this love I feel unique to them? Do I have unique skills for the Thai context? I think I could survive, which is actually quite a good start. Music and drama and high energy seem like pretty important assets over here, but I might scrape through with some sports skills. If I had complete freedom, would I come back to Thailand as soon as possible? I jus...

Phil in Thailand 2006: Thailand 3
http://thaiphil.blogspot.com/2006/12/thailand-3.html
Phil in Thailand 2006. Friday, December 15, 2006. Thanks heaps for praying! James and I went to play basketball on Wednesday night and 8 guys followed us back to the youth house to hear a short gospel message and join in an evening of games, which was really encouraging. It is really amazing to get guys coming along, as Johnny and Anne (missionaries working here) say that it is predominantly girls who come along. It seems like time has gone by so fast, as we are due to finish next Friday! I'm glad you're ...
