Just another WordPress.com weblog. When you have biological kids, why don’t they (“they” is a fluid term ’cause I really don’t know exactly who I am talking about) fingerprint you and do background checks and check up on your financial status and have someone come to your house to interview you? My character flaw has greatly shining through in this process: If I don’t know exactly how to do something, I don’t do it… or at least I put it off til the last possible minute. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Archive August, 2011. One thing Andrew and I feel strongly about is not simply adopting a child to fulfill our desire to grow our family – we are adopting to take care of God’s children. We are called to care for orphans and, however excited and freaked out we are, we are moving forward to fulfill this calling. Here are some staggering facts that I had read from a new adoption friend’s blog. An entire generation of parents are no longer; there are 4.4 million orphans.

Just another WordPress.com weblog. One of Andrew’s love language is hiking. His birthday was a couple weeks ago so we went to Zion National Park in Utah. It was incredible. Andrew was a little huffy about pulling off on the side of the freeway to take this one but he did well to humor me. This part kinda freaked me out the first time through, but on the way back we just let go and swam with the current. Just another amazing hike. An amazing birthday celebration week with my husaband. So, Andrew and I hav...

Monday, August 15, 2011. I am really going to miss Guam! I never fully appreciate places like this until I look back at pictures of it, even just hours ago. I tried to change my addresses today. Due to financial problems at PIU, I and others lost our positions with the university. I got to travel to Japan for the first time. I'll be going bac...

Monday, May 31, 2010. Sigua Falls is apparently one of the hardest hikes on Guam, but it was amazing and doable for the group that went. We started out as a big group and ended up coming back in small groups by the time everyone climbed their way out and made their way back. I'm so thankful for new, cool friends, especially as I was thinking that the summer wouldn't be as productive or adventerous as the rest of the year was. It turns out that it's even better. Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Another day on Gua...

Wednesday, June 30, 2010. And since we're on the subject. I came up with a yummy hash brown recipe in which half of the ingredients aren't even potatoes! Here's my seriously delicious. Hash brown recipe, which you'll be thankful you tried. Or, if you're near me, I can make it for you. One half of a spaghetti squash, cut lengthwise and seeded (you can store the other half in the fridge for a while and use for the same recipe, cook and mix with veggies, add to pasta, whatever you want). Here's what you do:.

If these were two girl students I (am not going to lie! Tuesday, September 21, 2010. God convicted me to stay home today. I don't know why I need conviction for that. Yep- I'm so excited. Extra time in the office, extra time with the students, and extra time relaxing. I know that I'm supposed to do this, relax, but I get so cau...Yeah,...
