Chickens in the Very Cold. January 10, 2013. Filed under: Town homesteading. It’s been very cold here lately. Around -15 C at night and up to -10C during the day. Chickens aren’t necessarily happy about that. I find ours huddled together on the roost. When I come by with kitchen scraps, they jump down and pick at them. Cleaning is harder at this time, too.
