Wedge Racing in 200 8. January (DOUBLE) - skipped. We towed uneventfully to the track on Friday afternoon - registered and found a decent spot in the paddock. I got the car out and trundled over to Tech to get my 'Annual tech registration' - all went well - the car being as raced at the Runoffs last year. On Saturday morning (GOOD WEATHER! Anyway, the race waves green - Dale and I had qualified in the middle of a pack of 5 Spec Racer Fords (outweigh us by 600 lbs and are BIG! Even if I had had one before...

Wedge Racing in 2015. January (MAJORS) - skipped it this year due to HORRIBLE class grouping. The only way I can express my displeasure is with my entry and wallet! Second trip here. Several 'top dog' FV's entered. Should be a good show. An additional circuit is planned to mirror below the existing track. That's a Kart track at the top right. The paddock area is the large paved area just right of center. Track length is 2.75 miles. CRAP THIS year was supposed to be different! A pretty good field (13 Vees!

Wedge Racing in 2004. Once again, I skipped Moroso - this time in favor of a Pro Vee at Texas World Speedway. This was going to be a LONG tow and we knew it. Crew Chief, Jerry, flew down from Ohio to ride with Linda and I rather than travel direct. We split the trip across 2 days both ways and it was marginally tolerable. It was cold when we left, but interestingly, every time we got out of the motor home, it was COLDER! We also had some new tricks to work with. JR Russell of Roxannes Headers. When we pu...

Wedge Racing in 2014. The trip down was nice - a bit WET since it rained almost all the way, but otherwise just fine. We arrived Wed evening after registration closed, but were able to sign the waiver at the gate and get inside for the night. Allan ( Silver Bullet bodywork. Mirrors - about 3 times larger! It certainly didn't help my 'aero', but hopefully, it would give me a better shot at actually SEEING the faster cars in my mirrors before they dove inside me. On Sunday, Tip and I spent most of the day ...

Wedge Racing 2011 Racing Season
http://www.wedgeracing.com/2011_racing_season.htm
Wedge Racing in 2011. The trip down was uneventful and we arrived in plenty of time to scope out the areas that we could access before registration opened. Once inside, we were able to find a nice grassy spot with power - close to Tech and impound. What more could we ask for? Talk about dodging a BULLET - I feel like Neo. And that new trannie must not be too bad either G . Saturday race - The green waved and instantly an S2 directly in front of Ed Womer and I blew his motor dumping LOTS of oil in our pat...

Wedge Racing 2005 Racing Season
http://www.wedgeracing.com/2005_racing_season.htm
Wedge Racing in 2005. Due to my late start and gas prices this year, we don't plan to travel as much, so will probably stick to the normal SEDIV races until the Runoffs. If I can finish the rest of the races in division, then I should be able to qualify for the Runoffs. My buddy, Tip Franklin and his new wife Jeannie, met Linda and I down at the beach. It's usually pretty decent basking weather at this time of year and this year was one of the best. Not too hot, and no rain. Saturday morning we were the ...

Wedge Racing 2006 Racing Season
http://www.wedgeracing.com/2006_racing_season.htm
Wedge Racing in 200. We have been very lucky indeed. As it turned out, I JUST managed to squeak out the pole time - by about 0.1 second over Dale Rader visiting the sunny south from Pennsylvania again. We gave the car another look over, wrapped things up, put it into the trailer for the night and went over to the worker social to consume some adult beverages and eat some treats. Race day was GLORIOUS! Well - Linda did it! Guess I was wrong about the gearbox. Back in the pits, veteran Vee pilot (from the ...
