Saturday, May 28, 2011. Ffwd - cardamom rice pilaf. I had the best of intentions. The previous week, I ended up not making the salad until Saturday night and getting nothing posted (well, until a couple of minutes ago). So I thought -. Do what you used to do, make the dish early, then blog about it and schedule your post! Great plan, poor execution. Between work and my niece's high school graduation, and. who knows what else. Did. Quite go as hoped. Rice, so I would think I'd like it. But what I. Additio...

Friday, August 5, 2011. After being so frustrated with Blogger, I decided to put my blog on a different site. It's a work in progress because I now realize that Blogger is a little easier to design on. BUT, I suppose I should just run through the tutorial! My new site is http:/ dulceshome.com. Come by and visit! I did copy over all of my old posts - though haven't yet formatted them so that they look pretty again. And the site needs work, but I'm hoping that this will eventually be better!

Saturday, July 23, 2011. Chiles and corn. summer in the Southwest. I have been thoroughly enjoying my time exploring French food with French Fridays with Dorie, but I have a confession to make - it's summer in AZ, and it's difficult to stay focussed on all things French. Well, or at least all. French. Besides, how could I be considered any kind of "foodie" if I didn't concentrate on whatever is "locally grown"? Have a wonderful time (and I have to remind myself not to eat that day, because there is always.

Thursday, July 7, 2011. Ffwd - salmon and tomatoes en papillote. I've been away for awhile, though at the moment, I'm interested in. French. No, not a trip on the horizon, but the annual epic trip around France (and into Belgium and Spain), known throughout the world as the Tour de France. Usually, I try to plan different French menus throughout the month, to at least conjure up the idea of visiting the Tour. A pilgrimage I would love to make one day. Now it's time to cook! While prepping things. yum!

Friday, February 11, 2011. Ffwd - orange-almond tart. Here we are at another French Friday with Dorie! Whew, what a week. I feel pretty. Beat up from the street up! But, this too shall pass. Of course, I have. To look forward to: I jet off to Puerto Rico for a week (for work), and I'm looking forward to a little Island Time. I made this week's recipe on Super Bowl Sunday (yay cheeseheads! That said, there was a pretty good reception to this week's ffwd recipe. Ready to go as usual. I pressed in the crust...

Friday, November 26, 2010. Ffwd - potato gratin. One of the things I'm learning on this journey of cooking with French Fridays with Dorie, is to appreciate the subtle flavors, and the highlighting of one or two ingredients in her recipes. For a person who loves the recipes of Bobby, Emeril and K-Paul (and don't forget, living in the Southwest! This week's recipe is a perfect example. It really highlights the flavor of the potatoes, adding the warmth of garlic, and the richness of cream. Featuring none ot...

Friday, December 31, 2010. Ffwd - spiced butter-glazed carrots. I actually like carrots. In fact, they are one of my favorite non-green vegetables. Still, when this was first on the. For December, I didn't get that excited about them. I ended up leaving this recipe for last - just worked out that way. I'm glad it did though! Because I made these last night when I was already wanting something simple and really yummy - but no more fuss, no more fancy. That was so. Carrots and chicken broth. 65279; .

Wednesday, September 29, 2010. I really couldn't stand it - waiting to get started on French Fridays with Dorie, so had to whip up some of my instant-gratification bread: a no-fuss focaccia from the King Arthur Flour website http:/ www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/blitz-bread-no-fuss-focaccia-recipe. It's the easiest thing in the world. Just mix everything together in a stand mixer, then place in a prepared pan. This is what it looks like 1 hour later. (I use the pizza dough flavor from KAF). Veggie Stir ...
