After the Christmas break, I was actually looking forward to going back to working outdoors, free from the stuffy confines of the house. Well, the air is certainly fresh at the moment. It’s actually colder on the boat than outside. Enough of the complaining though…I have thermals and sanding to warm me up. Today we had a pine delivery which needed to be made into 20mm/20mm battens for interior fitting out. By Boat Building Apprentice.

I’ve held a paintbrush in my hand before, but the finish is really important on the boats we build. The more I practiced, the more I learnt how to improve my technique and my pace quickened.
