Books Read in 2012. Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Guest Blog: Why Do I Even Bother? So, without further ado, here's the first featured writer on The Bloody Pen: Paul West, author of the debut novel First Cause. Here it is, folks:. Why did I feel like I ‘had’ to? You see what I mean? So then, once again, I HAD to write it. The only shot that never goes in is the one you don’t take, and if you honestly commit yourself to your best effort and intentions, then it works or it doesn’t, but you’...When you'...

Books Read in 2012. Monday, August 15, 2011. Back In The Saddle. This site will be getting a face-lift here soon. The majority of it will stay the same: it will still be used for my writing, musings, rants and whatever the hell else I decide to throw on here. What will be changing: the look, feel and approach. It will take some time to get everything in the order I want it, but time I've got. For now I'm okay with being back in the saddle. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Quote of the Week. Books Read in 2012.

Books Read in 2012. Friday, August 26, 2011. With Borders' last dirge being played, I figured it was only appropriate that I share with you all, the last book I'll ever buy from Borders. Even though it's just a book, it's special to me. For the longest time I've been wanting to pick up a copy of Walter Jon Williams incredible novel Implied Spaces. For those writerly types out there, have you ever wandered across a book while browsing the isles of your book store to discover a title that looks interesting?

The deranged scribblings of a feeble mind. Monthly Archives: December 2011. December 31, 2011. I can see (more) clearly now. Chapter 2 (Going to the Church House) of Once Upon an Ever After is in the can. That makes me about 3% done with the first draft. There’s a long way to go, but the words are still coming fairly easily. And the further I go into this story, the more I learn about its faerie-riddled, post-apocalyptic world. I know more about my characters and what drives them. So, I have basically st...

Books Read in 2012. Friday, March 5, 2010. I, Will: 1. 10 Again. When mom had gotten home from work she was still angry about the phone call incident, but didn’t seem to want to talk about it too much. She looked tired, and her clothes were all out of whack, like she had tried dressing herself with one hand in the dark, drunk off her ass. The drunk off her ass part I could believe.
