My Quilt Diary: I think I'm done
http://myquiltdiary.blogspot.com/2015/07/i-think-im-done.html
Monday, July 6, 2015. I think I'm done. Kind of a dark picture for a dark rainy day but this is what I came up with for my "Partnership Quilt Block". The theme for the nest Dome show is "Music". (Well, the x is pretty close to the s, and spell check won't help this time). I found the background print on my last trip to Nippori (fabric town), and I just had to use it. My first plan was a dancing cat in a top hat but when I saw Tanya. Musing in her blog about what to do . the word "bird" popped out. That i...

My Quilt Diary: January 2015

Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Tokyo Dome Quilt Show part 1. Although it has been nearly a week since viewing the "Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival 2015" with my two dear friends, I have yet to get organized enough to make a post. Now that I have seen their lovely posts, I am not sure I have much to add. These are the throngs of viewers that met us at the entrance. Even when you have a viewing plan, it is hard to wend your way through that sea of bodies. Now, that aught to be sweet! Even my gorilla...

My Quilt Diary: July 2015
http://myquiltdiary.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. In 1993, I made a quilt using a friendship star variation, and using a variety of plaid scraps. It was finished in August and named "Paul's Plaid Stars". It was presented to my husband on August 4th as a 30th year anniversary present. As another anniversary nears, I am looking at this old quilt . well used, but also chewed all over by Nikko. (The pink and blue clothes clips indicate all the areas that have been chewed). After having read Cheryl's wonderful post. Also, I need to ...

Blogging, Near Philadelphia: Rummage Sale and Frog Update

Saturday, August 01, 2015. Rummage Sale and Frog Update. On Friday I didn't have to work. And I knew what had to be done. Many of my friends have spent time this summer organizing their studios, purging their stashes, cleaning their messiness. Not me! Local people and blog friends all bit by the Dreaded Cleaning Virus. But not me! I posted on FB that I really had to go down and get organized and cleaned up before the Board of Health came to shut me down. And downstairs I went. Big Tub: Kaffe Collective.

Blogging, Near Philadelphia: Alive (Barely!)
http://nancynearphiladelphia.blogspot.com/2015/05/alive-barely.html
Tuesday, May 19, 2015. I've slept a lot (when the cough will permit it) during the day, consumed drugs, tea and water, and complained without ceasing. I did pick up five quilts from the machines, machined the binding on all of them, trimmed the excess on all of them, and have the hand-stitching on the first one 3/4 finished. I've been reading - finished a very thought-provoking book. And started another. I've watched TV. And waited for it to end. But it hasn't yet. Posted by Nancy, Near Philadelphia.

Blogging, Near Philadelphia: Relatively Speaking

Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Didn't I just post this picture a week or so ago? Well, yes. But I'm posting it again because (a) the pattern has arrived and (b) there's a little story to tell. And, due to the complexity (12 complicated pieced blocks, 20 appliqué units), this project is going to be around for a long time. First, someone asked about the pattern. I found it at Needles and Pins. Now for the story. When I was sixteen years old, this truly wonderful thing happened to me. I became an aunt! Yesterday ...

Squash House Quilts: January 2015

Friday, January 9, 2015. First Quilt Top of 2015! I managed to surprise myself by finishing a quilt top yesterday - the first one of 2015! Normally I don't keep track of what I make in any particular year, but I thought it might be fun to do so this year. The quilt started out with these pinwheels. Tedious little buggars, but blocks like this keep you on your toes in terms of accuracy and for those that know me, accuracy is the name of the game! It then progressed to these pretty rows. 6 fat quarters lyi...
