Tuesday, April 02, 2013. In January I started to fill sandbags. I started by buying 25. Then another 25. Then another 25. I wanted to build a New Patio Wall using unconventional materials. Cheap materials too. I staggered the sand bags as I stacked them, using old barbed wire in between the layers to prevent any shifting. The polyethylene bags are strong but will fail under prolonged exposure to our brutal sun. So I had to cover it somehow. So I settled on using Papercrete. Dries nice and hard.

Wednesday, July 25, 2012. The Whitewater-Baldy Complex Fire has been 95% contained since the summer "Monsoon" season has rained on the massive burn. The main problem is not the fire per se, but the deep heat it generates. Unlike low-intensity burns, these massive fires kill all the seeds and micro-organisms in the soil. From Safford Arizona, to Pennsylvania and New York State to visit family. Left at 3:38 pm on Thursday May 16, 1991 and it was 90 degrees F. (I had worked almost all day.).
