Thursday, February 26, 2009. Old Town Salado #8. Salado, TX 76571. Ramona and Jim: Turkey sandwich on Sourdough bread with tomato and lettuce, iced tea. Back from Austin, we stopped in Salado to visit the store where we bought our wedding rings almost six years ago. This cute little place had a charming and comfortable atmosphere. Sunday, April 12, 2009. Elm Mott, TX 76640. Ramona: house salad, 6 oz. filet. Mashed potatoes, iced tea. Jim: house salad, 16 oz. rib eye. Mushrooms, baked potato, iced tea. This restaurant was one of the first Jim visited when he came to Waco in 1993. Family no longer operated the establishment. We were both pleasantly surprised. The meat was tasty and tender. The sauteed mushrooms Jim got really did "smother" the rib eye. The pie was great. A huge head of meringue. Jim and Ramonas Restaurant Journey.
