Take it easy. but take it. Monday, April 30, 2012. What we think we need. A story (more like an extended list, really) I wrote in my writing group has the honor of being posted on Painted Parrot today! It looks all real and official-like. Yay, go read it. In Brief: Blog Challenge: 17/25 - ___ and Vinegar
http://bebriefbegone.blogspot.com/2009/03/blog-challenge-1725-and-vinegar.html
Thursday, March 19, 2009. Blog Challenge: 17/25 - and Vinegar. When I get a new piece of clothing that will touch my skin directly I usually wash it once before wearing it. This is a policy that I put in place after the waistband. On a pair of shorts gave me a rash. Today I broke with that policy. So now I'm faced with a tough choice: do I cowboy-up and just deal with the nasty smell all day, or do I take of the shirt and risk being mobbed by lascivious. We'll keep it on for now. just in case. Blog Chall...

In Brief: Blog Challenge: 21/25 - How to park a car in Rome
http://bebriefbegone.blogspot.com/2009/03/blog-challenge-2125-how-to-park-car-in.html
Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Blog Challenge: 21/25 - How to park a car in Rome. Should you ever visit Rome you should not under any circumstances rent a car. You won't need it, and it will be a huge challenge to park. If you do need to park a car in Rome, here are the heuristics I have seen used by Roman drivers. If there is a space on or near the road you are on that is approximately the size of your car then park there. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). News Post: Nominative Determinism. Blog Challenge...

In Brief: Blog Challenge: 12/25 - Prepare for Air
http://bebriefbegone.blogspot.com/2009/03/blog-challenge-1225-prepare-for-air.html
Saturday, March 14, 2009. Blog Challenge: 12/25 - Prepare for Air. I don't travel much, but when I do I like it to be as pleasant as possible. Some things are stacked against me: airplane seats were not designed with someone my height in mind, and I can't sleep just anywhere. I've got a transatlantic flight coming up, and here are the preparations. Some really good reading material. I like to save up a book or two that I've really been looking forward to. For this trip I'll be reading The Watchmen. Blog ...

Whine, whine, go away. Being sick and pregnant is not the most fun thing in the world. I can't take anything for it. I just have to go through box after box of tissues and whine a lot. Heh. I'm not very good at being sick. I went out and got some chicken soup from the Jewish deli today. Yum. If I could taste it. What do you do with that stuff? Oh, and I'm presenting at a conference on Friday, which I've never done before. Yikes! Snacks: string cheese, almonds, grapefruit. Sunday: Cheesy Ham and Pasta Bake.

take it easy... but take it.: December 2009
http://leafyg.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Take it easy. but take it. Wednesday, December 30, 2009. 2009, we hardly knew ye. Fifth time’s the charm! Wow, I've been doing this since 2003? 1 What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before? 2 Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I don't think I made any beyond 32 for 32. I didn't do particularly well on 31 for 31, and I think my percentage of completion was worse than 30 for 30; I hereby resolve to do better next year. 4 Did anyone close to you die?

take it easy... but take it.: January 2010
http://leafyg.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Take it easy. but take it. Friday, January 08, 2010. One of my favorite librarian bloggers (no link because we are sort of kind of professionally connected, but email me if you want to read hers, which is great) did what is apparently an old-school meme that I've never seen before, and reading it was really fun. Basically, it's 15 things about you and books. Here goes:. 3 Apparently, if an adult was finished reading me a book and didn't intend to read it again, I would pick up the book and smack them wit...

This is our life right now. This extremely accurate description. Of feeding a baby is exactly what our life is about right now. I laughed so hard I cried. Todd laughed so hard he woke the baby sleeping on his chest. And lots of other mundane firsts that seem significant only to a baby's parents. :). But also, my first Mother's Day. Thanks, Baby. I'm glad you're here. Oatmeal or peanut butter waffles. Lunches: leftover baked ziti, carrot-sweet potato soup, salads. Grapefruit, lactation cookies. You are gi...
