I have learned the exact same things while teaching and developing recipes for this blog. Short, interesting, and worth a read. Don't forget to Dine Out for Life. Have Your Cake and Edith Too: THE WHOLE30 COMES TO AN END!

http://www.cakeandedith.com/2015/04/the-whole30-comes-to-end.html

Tuesday, April 7, 2015. THE WHOLE30 COMES TO AN END! My W30 email today told me to do something celebratory tonight not only for my dad's birthday but also as a reward for a job well done. I taught tonight though, so, as far as relishing my W30 success was concerned, I was prepared for an anticlimactic evening. I underestimated my guests! Which I should never do because they (you! Anticlimactic. Andrea, Josh, Naomi, Marless (sp? Ron, Maria, Scott, Katie, and Dano: Thank you! Lunch at 1:40 pm Spinach sala...

Monday, December 15, 2014. Business Cards (finally) and Saveur's. I got even cuter! But more importantly, this. At least for me. Similar in texture to a British steamed pudding, but different in that it's not all that sweet (cup of Lyle's notwithstanding). So there it is. Just a really delicious brown bread. With an incredible chew and a little bit of caramel in every bite. Handsome byproduct: since it bakes at a low temperature for 8 hours, it conveniently gives your radiators a little break.

Lisa and Christian. A Mini Blog. For family and friends (near and far) to keep up with what's going on in our lives! Monday, November 5, 2012. It's a real baby nursery now! We painted the walls (a lavender grey color), added white striped curtains to soften the room, put together our crib, got a changing table/dresser combo and bought a cool glider chair! But most impressive (to me) is the beautiful tree on one of the walls that Christian painted free hand! His talents never cease to amaze me! In fact, B...

The Minneapolite: Stage Kiss

http://theminneapolite.blogspot.com/2015/08/stage-kiss.html

A Non-Minnesotan Embraces Life in the Twin Cities. Sunday, August 2, 2015. The play within a play is a classic trope. There's no quicker way to shine a spotlight on both an audience's expectations and the complication of Actors as Actual People. Sarah Ruhl's Stage Kiss, playing through August at the Guthrie. Takes that theatrical construct and expertly uses it to highlight the worlds we build inside our heads, the relationships we paint in rose-colored tints. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Lisa and Christian. A Mini Blog. For family and friends (near and far) to keep up with what's going on in our lives! Sunday, June 24, 2012. We are back from our trip to California! It went by way too fast (as usual). We flew into SFO where my parents picked us up and whisked us away to San Luis Obispo (with an In and Out Burger stop on the way of course). We stayed with my brother and sister in law Eric and Tina for the weekend because it's their daughter's 1st birthday! Happy Birthday baby Girl! Hopeful...

Lisa and Christian. A Mini Blog. For family and friends (near and far) to keep up with what's going on in our lives! Monday, October 8, 2012. My goal is to have a natural (drug free) vaginal birth. It's funny because these are small things but they affect the outcome of my birth in a big way. So far the list is funny and seems a little crazy but these techniques have worked for others! The Days of the Dewigs Lives: Shrimp, my Savior

http://dewigs.blogspot.com/2011/05/shrimp-my-savior.html

The Days of the Dewigs Lives. Some lighthearted (but occasionally deep) thoughts, stories, and pictures following my life as a Mama and wife. Also.some passionate food talk. Monday, May 9, 2011. Shrimp, my Savior. Today is one of those days. This house has fallen victim to the "worst season of allergies we've ever seen" (welcome, Spring! Seriously, if I had a dime for every time I've asked myself this question. You should probably make this tonight, even if you aren't on allergy medication and on the ver...

Cake and Empire

Monday, July 27, 2009. The Tzompantli cake is a follow-up cake of sorts to the Chacmool cake. Oh well. First off, I’d better tell you what a tzompantli actually is supposed to represent. However, we do know that they are represented in some of the codices as almost abacus. Like structures with skulls as the beads. Most of these post-date the Spanish Conquest so it really is hard to know whether they are all that accurate. We have to just go with what we have for now. To do my tzompantli cake I had to mak...
