A Taste of Emmaus. What is Cooking at Camp this Week! April 17, 2011. June 8, 2012. I made this again to remind me that summer is coming even thought we have a new blanket of Spring snow spread all over the ground. Romaine or any other type of green lettuce. Small red onion, cut in half lengthwise and sliced thin (eyeball the amount you would enjoy). Cucumber, sliced thin. Combine all salad ingredients in salad bowl and toss gently to combine. 2 Tablespoons white wine vinegar. 1 teaspoon poppy seeds.

A Taste of Emmaus. What is Cooking at Camp this Week! December 2, 2010. December 2, 2010. I found both of these recipes from the TASTE section of 2008 Star Tribune. I like them because they are simple, take readily available ingredients and they taste great! Makes about 2 dozen. Note: From Matt Boisen of Owatonna, Minn. 1/2 tsp. baking soda. 1 tsp ground cardamom. 1 tsp ground cinnamon. 11/2 c. flour. 1/2 c (1 stick) butter, at room temperature. 1/2 c (1 stick) butter, at room temperature. Roll dough int...

A Taste of Emmaus. What is Cooking at Camp this Week! April 17, 2011. April 17, 2011. It is Lent and time for soup. I found this recipe in one of reader posts and thought I would try it. The ladies I cooked for that weekend really liked it and I have made it several times since. 1/2 cup diced celery. 1 cup diced onion. 1 bunch green onions, about 8 green onions, thinly sliced. 1/3 cup all-purpose flour. 3 cups chicken broth. 2 cups half-and-half (I used fat-free). 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste. 7 Add sour...

https://campemmaus.wordpress.com/2010/01/31/first-post-of-2010

A Taste of Emmaus. What is Cooking at Camp this Week! First Post of 2010. January 31, 2010. Who would have thought that back in 1980 I would have blog with the recipes that I make at Camp Emmaus? I have a bit of a break from camp retreats, but the “Spring ” season is soon to start. Today I cooked for my Calvary Lutherans Council retreat. I think this might be my lunch menu for the spring season. First I made a dish. From Paul Dean’s recipes. 1 pound mixed ground. Beef and sausage, browned and drained.

A Taste of Emmaus. What is Cooking at Camp this Week! March 14, 2010. March 14, 2010. I am always looking for a new brunch recipe and I decided to try this one. I love it. It is a change of pace from the cheese laden recipes that I usually use. 10-12 ounces Canadian bacon (2 packages, or use diced ham). 2 cups reduced-fat milk (or whole milk). 1 teaspoon onion powder. 4 large egg yolks. 1/2 cup heavy cream. 2 tablespoons lemon juice. 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard. Cut the butter into four pieces, place in a 1...

A Taste of Emmaus – What is Cooking at Camp this Week!

A Taste of Emmaus. What is Cooking at Camp this Week! June 8, 2012. This is an old recipe that my sister gave me and I have been making it ever since. There is no flour in this recipe. You probably could eat this if you were gluten free except you should look for an oatmeal that is processed in an environment that doesn’t have any gluten. 1 cup white sugar. 1 cup brown sugar. 1 cups peanut butter. 2 teaspoons baking soda. 1 cup chocolate chips. 1 cup M and M’s.
