http://bourbondork.blogspot.com/2015/05/kentucky-spring-2015.html
The ridiculous pursuit of Bourbon (.and other whiskies). Sunday, May 17, 2015. Kentucky - Spring 2015. I've just returned from Kentucky where this last week we conducted the annual barrel picking endeavor. Visits to Four Roses, Buffalo Trace, Jim Beam and Wild Turkey yielded multiple barrel picks that I'm very excited about. I'll post details in the coming weeks. The year's trip was the best to date, but now back to the real world. May 27, 2015 at 4:07 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Bourbon Dork: Tasting American Style
http://bourbondork.blogspot.com/2015/05/tasting-american-style.html
The ridiculous pursuit of Bourbon (.and other whiskies). Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Last Thursday I conducted a tasting at Jack Rose Dining Saloon. In my discussions with the client and the Whiskey Adviser at Jack Rose we settled on an American Whiskey line-up that featured Corn Whiskey all the way to Rye Whiskey in order to provide the tasters the experience of the sweet to the spice. The lineup was as follows:. Corn - Berkshire Corn Whiskey: 90% corn, 10% barley aged 1 year @ 86 proof. Weller Special Reserv...

Bourbon Dork: Cigar Journal - Macanudo Cru Royale
http://bourbondork.blogspot.com/2015/04/cigar-journal-macanudo-cru-royale.html
The ridiculous pursuit of Bourbon (.and other whiskies). Sunday, April 26, 2015. Cigar Journal - Macanudo Cru Royale. I've been smoking cigars regularly for about 9 years. Prior to that, a cigar would be enjoyed during a round of golf or maybe while mowing the lawn. Since 2006, I've enjoyed some very fine domestic and cuban expressions and like whiskey, I know what I like and what I don't like. The cigar came from Famous Smoke Shop and runs around $6. From their website:. Follow the Dork by Email. I have...

Death Valley's Little Brother blog: September 2012
http://deathvalleyslittlebrother.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
September 14, 2012. Lace em' up boys, tonight we'll fight for it. To carry any more than 50 whiskies at a time takes the spotlight off of the stars and completely overwhelms the fans. Enter the rotating roster method. Perform or die. Why should a whisky have it any easier than a pro hockey player? DVLB's Dr. Dramstein workin' the Peat. Port Charlotte An Turas Mor. Hmmm To most, Islay = Peat. And Port Charlotte is Bruichladdich's answer to that question: 'where's the peat? Innovation isn't shipwrecked on ...

Death Valley's Little Brother blog: Hello, is there anybody out there...?
http://deathvalleyslittlebrother.blogspot.com/2012/01/glenfiddich-snow-phoenix-at-dvlb.html
January 10, 2012. Hello, is there anybody out there? Hello world of bloggers. this is our first post and we're excited to finally get our little selves on the blog scene to share our world view of all things Espresso Whisky and Bread. The holy trinity of 'the good life'. Smoky rich, very spicy, not sure what spice but there's orange peel in there somewhere. Peaty, not light not delicate. Very unique, can't say what it is though. It's a mystery. Heavy like a heavy scotch ale and not an eve...Incredibly sm...

Canucktail: The Wild Wild West Part 1
http://canucktail.blogspot.com/2010/11/wild-wild-west-part-1.html
Cocktails in the Great White North. Monday, November 22, 2010. The Wild Wild West Part 1. Last weekend a family engagement took me out to Calgary, and it was an eye-opener for sure. On November 11, Remembrance Day, we decided to celebrate my cousin Alex’s graduation with a big family dinner and a big bowl of punch from the big silver family bowl. I was recently given Dave Wondrich’s fantastic new book “Punch”. To round up a few bottles. The Punch was very good although I don’t know why it’s c...Awesome I...

Canucktail: September 2010
http://canucktail.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Cocktails in the Great White North. Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Canucktail is a blog dedicated to the great wide world of cocktails. (Mmmmm. delicious cocktails) But with a twist, no not that. Kind of twist (lemon, lime). The twist is: the struggles of the cocktailian in Canada. From Canada and enjoy a good cocktail, you have probably never heard of the above ingredients and the wonders they can impart to a good drink. Boy, do you have a lot to learn. Stay tuned. Like I said, stay tuned.
