1988 (two trips) Four counties Ring and Llagollen Canal. The April trip was third time lucky for the group. At last the Four Counties Ring was completed. It has been a long time coming, Mike Newport found the Log Book that Brian Davy kept during the 1988 trip in 2010, so now we have an accurate and very interesting account of the trip. Brian Davy, Simon Gates and Ted Chapman. At last I have identified this photo as from the April 1988 trip, it is not known who took it but there must be more somewhere.

The boat BALDRIK was hired from Viking Afloat. This boat was of a very high standard, as was the service we received. Without reservation we would recommend this firm to you. See 1996 for my comments about this boatyard. A good handling and powerful boat is needed for river work and Baldrik was just the ticket. Trent and Mersey and Shropshire Union 2000. This year the plan was to do the Cheshire ring, for several of this crew it have been their first time, since the last trip was in 1990. The boat was hired from Claymoore Navigation Preston Brook. We would highly recommend them to you, they have an excellent fleet and the personal service is to a very high standard indeed. John has passed some paperwork, a map and an alternative route suggestions sheet. Ted and John enjoying a canalside drink.

The Four Counties Ring 1998. The boat was called Poplar No 4 hired from Middlewich Narrowboats. The Warwickshire Ring 1995. Acording to the Lockmaster map this is 100 miles of navigable inland waterways. Oxford (Northern), Grand Union, Birmingham and Fazeley and Coventry canals make up the ring, this crew of sixmanaged the trip in one week which, as can be read from Steve's Daily log, still gave us plenty of time to explore the many varied pubs along the route.
