Sunday, 12 July 2009. Lots of baking.good for post operative recovery. This week I have been off recovering from a small operation which involved some stitches and recovery has been easier standing up than sitting.so, what else to do but bake in between resting of course. The strawberries added to buttercream was a bit of trial and error to then get consistency right again as the berries added so much liquid. Sunday, 26 April 2009. On Friday I made the recipe from BBC Good Food for blitz and bake chocolate and beetroot cake was really interesting in the way the ingredients were put together and resulted in a lovely purple tinged chocolate cake. Perhaps my oven is hotter as I think the 1 hour cooking time was too long. Thank you to friends and family for sending other beetroot recipes. The Channel Four eat yourself thin. Monday, 29 June 2009. Iced cookies.trickier than I thought. So, here's the first batch of cookies. On Friday myself and the kids did a bit of decorating. Millie turned out to be quite interested and quite good at it actually. Hettie had fun putting as much as possible on the top of her owl shaped cookie and then scraping it off and eating it. Wednesday, 22 July 2009. Last weekend I tried out white chocolate mud cake recipe as I have been thinking of expanding my repertoir of cake flavours. These rather dense, white chocolately cakes were lovely with their strange crispy top. I debated long and hard, and on facebook, about what icing should top off these very sweet cakes.
