Experience a unique view of the countryside. 140 Kg at 4 inch waterline. 240 Kg at 6 inch waterline. The 16 ft is a good all round canoe, it has plenty of rocker making it manoeuvrable in white water as it has a proper shallow arch hull. This boat is a little lively when you first get in it, but you soon settle down and it is a very comfortable boat to paddle. It can be paddled tandem or solo (1st place in the River liffey decent C1 and C2 class).

I decided to go one step further and design a boat with racing lines. With my experience of sit and switch paddling and racing wild water canoes I have developed a versatile canoe which could tick a number of boxes. 7 foot Marathon Canoe.

Experience a unique view of the countryside. The 14 ft is based on the 16 ft but with more rocker and up to 4 inches deeper than the boat it was based on. The extra depth means more volume and the higher ends cope with bigger waves. We have sold these as flat water boats, pinching them in at the middle reduces the rocker and taking 2 or 3 inches off the hull all the way round turns it into a small 16 ft. If you don’t reduce the height of the hull it is too deep for general paddling.

Experience a unique view of the countryside. 120 kg at 4 inch waterline. 190 Kg at 6 inch waterline. Based on the original 15 ft Apache, this boat was shortened by 34 inches and the ends flared to ease production and relive the stress on the mould (the recurve ends on the original 15ft apache put a great deal of stress on the mould thus limiting it’s life span. The changes where made above the waterline so that it does affect it when paddling.

Wednesday, 8 April 2015. River Earn - Compilation! The River Earn is probably my favourite river in Scotland. It flows from Lochearnhead, heads East passing through St. Fillans, Comrie, Crieff, Perth and eventually joins the River Tay and makes its way onwards to Dundee and into the sea off the East Coast of Scotland. Unfortunately, it does not become a canoeable river due to lack of depth, ease of access etc until it almost reaches the village of Comrie. It really does have something for everyone:-.
