Random words to keep you up to date on my southern adventures. May 29, 2013. Well I guess I needed a break from all this learning, because when my old Guelph pal Lindsey suggested a road trip it didn’t take me long to reply. 8211; We were Cape Breton bound. Like soaked to the underwear. Sunday, Lindsey an. A great weekend exploring our great country. A treat to be with old friends before I make many new ones in Africa. I started up this blog to keep all. This blog and all its random content is about keep...

Random words to keep you up to date on my southern adventures. August 30, 2013. Mose Coady in Action. Asset-Based Community Driven development is a concept originating in America, through John Kretzmann and John L. McKnight of Northwestern University (thanks to Wikipedia). While these individuals may represent a considerable amount of written work and publication of the idea, ABCD had been practiced in communities for generations. Oh ya pictures – I went for a hike with some new friends…. August 19, 2013.

The Mental Exit | Logan in Africa

Random words to keep you up to date on my southern adventures. October 1, 2013. I guess I need to blow the dust off this whole blogging thing, haven’t really been active as you may have noticed, perhaps this will rectify your sadness at the absence of my laughable words and thoughts. September just went, and October and November promise a similar result. When you end up spending a week away doing something completely unrelated to why I originally came, the month seems to get really short. So back at it!

Starring Alyssa As Herself: Ode to my Girlfriends
http://www.alyssadellepalme.com/2013/06/ode-to-my-girlfriends.html
Sunday, June 9, 2013. Ode to my Girlfriends. When we were twelve, my girlfriends and I had a Spice Girls party. We dressed up as our favourite Spice Girl and spent the night dancing and singing along to their debut album "Spice". We even had a photo shoot and posed wearing platform shoes and crazy amounts of roll on glitter. It was so much fun. I believe the Spice Girls taught us two things: (1) Girl Power! The welcome sign for the blushing bride. Handmade name tags for shower guests. Of an $80 gift bag ...

Sunday, May 4, 2014. Mother's Day is a week away and I've been thinking about how I want to follow in the great footsteps of my amazing Mimi. I aim to love as I have been loved. My mother is my kindred spirit and her beautiful heart flows kindness into our family. I am a better mother because of her. My parents went out of town and came home to an early Mother's Day surprise this weekend. My sister and I made a chore list and spent a day cleaning their house-including the toilets. Their gorgeous bouquets...

Starring Alyssa As Herself: Gifts from God
http://www.alyssadellepalme.com/2015/05/gifts-from-god.html
Sunday, May 3, 2015. On Saturday evening, we huddled around our new baby girl and our nephew, Isaiah, as the church welcomed them into its midst with love and happiness. It was a beautiful baptism! Rosemary wore a soft white gown, the same one her great-grandmother wore over eighty years ago. Can I get an Amen? Our little lemon is such a blessing! We love you Rosie June and we promise to allow God to guide us as we raise you. Happy Sunday, friends! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Birds on a wire.

Sunday, June 16, 2013. Father's Day, First Foods and other Fancy Festivities! It rained on our anniversary, but that didn't stop us from celebrating. I painted my nails and put on a cute summer dress for the occasion. Mike tucked in his shirt and opened the car door for me. We were giddy because it was our first date night since Henry was born. We dined at Fratelli. You can read our wedding story by clicking: here. Our week in review:. We celebrated Father's Day at the cottage. We spent most of our w...

Saturday, January 3, 2015. Disclaimer: I consider myself a crunchy mama, but this post is crunchier than grape nuts! Baby showers are not my thing. The poopy chocolate diaper game grosses me out and the thought of everyone staring at me as I open gifts is enough to give me an anxiety attack. However, I do believe in celebrating a baby's pending arrival! When I was pregnant with Henry, my mother hosted an intimate high tea at the Chateau Laurier and it was perfect for me! Now, we wait. Starring Alyssa As Herself: My Joyful Journey
http://www.alyssadellepalme.com/2014/01/my-joyful-journey.html
Wednesday, January 29, 2014. 8220;Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.”. I read that quote in the newspaper recently and it reminded me of one of the most profound experiences of my life. I had a different blog post in mind for this week, but the quote inspired me to share this story with you. The biggest lesson the Camino taught me is that with faith, I can make it through the most challenging, but most beautiful trail that is life. Birds on a wire.
