Cape 2 Cairo: Maun to Victoria Falls: elephants
http://c2c2010.blogspot.com/2010/08/maun-to-victoria-falls-elephants.html
Wednesday, 18 August 2010. Maun to Victoria Falls: elephants. Shortly after Zorogo a motorbike stopped in front of me. It was Paul and Karla whom I’d met in Seeheim and last seen in Keetmanshoop in Namibia. (Paul’s father lives in my home town of Matlock, but our meetings are entirely coincidental). We arranged to meet later that evening at the first lodge we came across. This was North Gate Lodge Nata. Which I’ve written a separate blog post about. Posted by Kevin Brown. Cape 2 Cairo: Day 125 - 139 (4 - 18 Nov) Addis Ababa to Khartoum
http://c2c2010.blogspot.com/2010/11/day-125-139-4-18-nov-addis-ababa-to.html
Thursday, 18 November 2010. Day 125 - 139 (4 - 18 Nov) Addis Ababa to Khartoum. The only way to cross from Sudan to Egypt is by the once weekly ferry (Wednesdays) from Wadi Hali to Aswan and my plan is to take the 1. December crossing. My visa is valid for 2 weeks only and I’ll be in the country for 21 days, but there’s nothing I can do to extend it in Khartoum. Hopefully I’ll be able to pay a fine when leaving and won’t be sent back to Khartoum! Posted by Kevin Brown. 30 November 2010 at 14:31.

Friday, 27 August 2010. Days 51 - 55 Sunday 22nd to Thursday 26th August. On day 51 (Sunday) Kevin covered 99km and made it to Mazabuka http:/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazabuka. 160;- and the Mutailila Guest House. On his way to finding accommodation for the night he managed to stop the Zambian national cycling coach - I think the short conversation they managed to have is making him reconsider his planned route. This morning, after a cooked breakfast he was off again. 16 September 2010 at 12:02. Days 56 - ...

Cape 2 Cairo: Ethiopian and Sudanese visa saga resolved in Nairobi
http://c2c2010.blogspot.com/2010/10/ethiopian-and-sudanese-visa-saga_17.html
Sunday, 17 October 2010. Ethiopian and Sudanese visa saga resolved in Nairobi. The road from Arusha to Nairobi was a lot worse than everyone had been promising. There are lots of road works at the moment, diverting traffic off the road creating a lot of dust and resulting in a bumpy ride. Along the way I met a Dutch cyclist, Ralph Tuijn, who is cycling from Cairo to Cape Town for his Fair Water Bike Challenge. I’ve stayed an extra two days to share in Claudia’s 6. An orphanage for elephants and rhinos...

Saturday, 23 October 2010. Days 107 - 112 (17 - 22 Oct) Nairobi to Marsabit. Any cyclist who’s ridden in this part of the world who read my last post must have been laughing at my over optimistic plan to ride from Nairobi to Moyale in a week! Getting out of Nairobi on the Thika road was a nightmare with traffic, road works and dust, even on a Sunday morning! There are many potholes, but essentially the road is tarmac until just after Seredupi (sp? Cries of “Mzungu! Posted by Kevin Brown.

Sunday, 3 October 2010. Day 93 (3 Oct) Moshi, Mt. Kilimanjaro - 3 months on the road. I’ve made it to Moshi, the largest town near the main route to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. Today was cloudy which afforded pleasant riding conditions, but has meant no chance of seeing the peak of Africa’s highest mountain. Photo of the day: people washing clothes in a river. Posted by Kevin Brown. 6 October 2010 at 14:46. Were one of the two German couples youve met twice in Botswana in August, you remember?

On Friday, Kevin made the 4000km milestone - amazing really to think hes travelled so far since the beginning of July. The last couple of days have proven to be amongst the toughest hes endured so far. The local staple diet of nshima - a boiled maize - doesnt seem to be providing him with the energy he needs (so . Today (Sunday) hes in Mnunga after covering 130km - although one of todays discoveries is that his map is wrong! Overall, ...

Monday, 6 December 2010. Day 152 - 156 (1 - 4 Dec) Wadi Halfa to Aswan via Abu Simbel with police escort. That was “problem” according to the better Russian- than English-speaking official. After speaking with several officials in English and Russian, I was allowed to proceed with all of my belongings. 160; Was this a ploy for me to miss the public bus the next morning?
