And partly because I wanted it. The BCN Table of Distances is heavy - just under 8kg - and is all solid, rubbed leather, bindings and heavy paper. Despite the month-long stoppage at the Lune Aqueduct, CRT has asked its volunteer moorings wardens to continue checks. I check the busy Lancaster moorings more often than the rest of my patch and last Friday, after doing so, I continued up to the breach to see what was going on. CRT staff have installed a rather impressive pipe along the towpath to secure the water supply for the section below the leak.

My ongoing exploration of Horsley Ironworks bridges took me to Braunston this week, a location where two iron arches span the junction joined by a short brick linking bridge. This is an unusual configuration and one which I found challenging to photograph well. I started in Midland Chandlers car park but the side on view into the light really didn't work.
