Updates on my life in Cochabamba, Bolivia ". It's Been 7 Months. My birthday (12/4) marked 7 months since the shoulder surgery. They have been some of the most discouraging and painful months of my life. Healing has been quite an ordeal, leaving my doctor no desire to operate on my other shoulder. Every election day, however, no cars are allowed on the streets and no meetings are allowed of more than ten people, so we had a very relaxing day, cycling and walking up and down main roads and having some family time! Friday, January 28, 2011. Occasionally I do look at NHS provision in UK with rose-tinted spectacles. Today was one of those days. The vaccination clinic is part of the Children’s hospital here in Cochabamba, and open hours are approximately 8am to midday, and also for some hours in the afternoons. However, from past experience I know that if you get there after about 9am there is no chance of being seen in the morning, and afternoons don’t work for me.
