Sunday, June 15, 2008. Mulch Run Number 4. Saturday marked the last of my Theo Chocolate. Mulch Runs for the early summer. This load is made up of two especially heavy bags weighing close to thirty pounds each. Both today and yesterday I went up Fremont Ave unlike the first. Friday, June 12, 2009. We have been needing to control a bit of dirt in the backyard. We thought that the blocks would make a nice contrast to our raised beds. I could have used the 22-year-old Volvo in the background.but that would have been overkill. The roundabout autofree ride was about 1 mile with 100 of elevation and took 15 minutes. The biggest issue with this load was getting the bike off the bike rack at Home Despot. I was wedged between a flower display and an illegally parked scooter.

Saturday, July 5, 2008. Inaugural Cargo Bike Pilot Profile - Val Kleitz. In what I hope to be a regular feature I'll bring you first person stories of life on a cargo bike. To kick off the series is Val Kleitz. Val is one of the most dedicated riders I have ever met and one of the nicest humans around. We met at the market prior to group cargo bike ride. Ironically Val went to high school in Santa Fe with my girlfriend. And let me know what you think and feel free to suggest riders for future profiles.

Monday, December 28, 2009. Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt. Not one, but three butchered cycle trucks at the all inclusive resort we stayed at for a week over Christmas. Foot activated rim brake. I did see one other in town with an intact basket, in similar beat down condition. I also saw construction workers hammering rusty nails straight to be reused for a fence, which does say something about something. At least they're still rolling and working hard I'm sure. Monday, November 30, 2009. This is one of my favorite styles of bakfiets. Original models were fixed gear (you could not coast). Thursday, September 9, 2010. Saw these bikes in Como, Italy. The first two are the same model, one with a rack mounted stand, one without. They were riding together, must have been lunch time. Saturday, August 29, 2009. I love this style of bike. Unfortunatly the front rack is attached to the steering so it becomes a bit troublesome if you overload it.
