OK, now to fortify yourself for this long drive around the northern half of Cape Breton, we'd recommend a lunch of crabs and mussels. Well, at least Bill would! I might prefer a grilled cheese sandwich, or anything else! But look at that happy grin! Bill truly enjoyed his seafood delight, and I enjoyed the fact that I did NOT have to partake in it! Nowdown to the nitty gritty, or just the gritty!

Family, friends, and photography. Saturday, June 4, 2011. PEI, Explored - Part 1. I was very curious about Prince Edward Island. I first knew of it because of Anne Shirley (Anne with an e! And her famous Green Gables and Avonlea. I didn't read the well-loved books but saw the wonderful movies with Megan Follows, Colleen Dewhurst, and Richard Farnsworth. I absolutely love the movies and feel that Anne, Matthew, and Marilla were ALL kindred spirits! We found PEI to be well worth the visit! PEI - Part 2.

So, it's Prince Edward Island, or Ile-du-Prince-Edouard, depending on whether you're coming at it from an English or French point of view. Than the ferry (which looked to be over for $100 for our set-up)! The bridge is 8 miles and the longest bridge over ice-covered water in the world (although not much ice to be had when we were there at the end of Aug! Everyone out enjoying a lovely day!

And Dalhousie was an interesting stop. One of the many new tastes/products we had to try while in Canada was dill pickle potato chips. They weren't bad. Bill - and most of the children - loved them! And just to show the full utilization of available (not much! We got our very own lighthouse! You can see how it's nice and sunny.

Most of Hurricane Early had passed, but it was still a little cloudy/rainy. Some cool house painting! The eagle has landed (well, almost). Really like this one! And here it is - the rock!
